Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Today's signees from The Daily Hoosier: https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-football-announces-21-class-of-2025-signees/ Tweets I saw earlier today from Coach Cig's signing day press conference - Cignetti asked if he has an idea of how big this portal class can be when all is said and done. Smiles. "Yea, I do." Curt Cignetti says Indiana will definitely pursue a QB in the portal this offseason. Cignetti asks about QB. Says IU likes Tyler Cherry and Alberto Mendoza, didn't feel a need for a freshman QB. Will "definitely sign a quarterback out of the portal." Fourteen (14) of Indiana's 21 signees today will enroll early and be here next month. Seven more will arrive in the summer. go iu bb, ALASKA HOOSIER, J34 and 2 others 3 2 Quote

I think the "definitely" part of the statement says everything we need to know. CCC obviously doesn't think what we need at qb is already on the roster. CSP Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 And as well as TJ has played this season, you know Rourke had to bring it in the spring to totally beat him out during those practices. cthomas 1 Quote

I may be remembering incorrectly or possibly CCC was being coy and not giving out more info than he needed to but didn't CCC pretty much say that neither Rourke or TJ had really separated themselves from the other in the spring and preseason practices? I do remember he didn't announce a starter until close to the first game. Quote

He stated in the spring practices, "Well, I am not going to tell you about the quarterback rotation. From here on out I might not be very open about it. I am impressed with [Kurtis] Rourke's progress, let's just say that." "He just looks like [he is more comfortable]. The last two practices he has been functioning and looking like a high-level quarterback. " Then Rourke got a full interview after the spring game in the IndyStar. go iu bb 1 Quote

I don’t like the guy but Tom Brady consistently got beat out for a starting spot yet whenever he got PT dude delivered results Quote
