I agree they'd serve a purpose, sort of..... but ... we signed Alexis for a reason and I doubt he came here to play less mins than he did at UF.

As of now this is how I see the lineup 

Conerway/Enright 

Wilkerson/Drake 

Miles/Dorn

Devries/Sisley 

Bailey/Alexis

Hopefully we get another 5 like Fredricko and then go get two freshmen who are either a big wing or another 4

I think (hope?) everyone understands this but, generally speaking, early in the year coaches play broader rotations and, once they learn what works, settle into a tighter rotation. So early in the season, expecting 10+ guys to get minutes is reasonable but later in the year it’s likely to tighten up to 8 or so.

The luxury we seem to have is that there will be real competition for those minutes instead compared to what we rolled out last year. I personally love the “mid major all conference performer” approach.

Not true. Some of you/us aren’t ready to see a team like this one. Need to stop thinking post centric. The B1G is going away from banging and backing down type bigs. Alexis is 240 pound by the way.

The wings he’s getting play more like guards. Will be sweet seeing kick outs to multiple “guards”. Can’t wait to see them vs. fletcher and smith.

I don't think many are worried about what the 5 brings offensively. Defensively however, it's a glaring concern at the present moment.

This!!!!!! Thank you. The only two teams off the top of my head with elite bigs and high usage are Michigan and Purdue at the moment.

I agree we need to look at defensive bigs, but one of the teams in the national championship in Houston weren’t exactly playing your typical rim protecting defensive bigs. 
 

They didn’t have a player in their rotation above 6’8.

Alexis is actually pretty good. From what I’ve seen of DD teams the defense relies less on bigs. They focus on stopping drives before the paint area. This style is so foreign to the big ten. So much length already(not height) that they will get backside help blocks. This bunch looks speedy too. The opposing team better get back on defense.

I’ve watched all the highlight videos and they all look good so it’s hard to decipher. I don’t  know what Dorn would be rated, but he was killing it.

That said, Conerway is a combo guard who can guard wings and rebounds like a wing.

Wanting to have a legit defender at the 5 doesn't = 'post-centric.'

Bailey is 6'10-6'11 -- -230/235.... and is well above average athletically. Yes he is.
