Transfer Portal w IU Interest

Not so sure about that.  With the amount of sunshine being pumped, need SPF 100 for protection.

I am done with "optimism."  Optimism gets you 0.  I am seeking results.

Granted, Woodson did better than predicted in the portal with 3 top 25 guys.  That's Mount Rushmore territory.   But let's see where it goes on the court before we start steaking thru the quad.

Okay, you've made your point, AGAIN

First, in line with the new forum rules, this thread is about the transfer portal.  So what is a HS recruiting tweet doing here?  Second, if anyone who thinks a few meetings with some in state dudes means we have the state locked up, they're delusional.  We'll have the state locked up when they are committed.

But yeah, lets go.  We're back baby.   Woody's cooking.

Luke Goode is a transfer portal prospect from Indiana so the tweet is relevant.

You're putting words in peoples' mouths with your "second" point and don't seem familiar with the concept of symbolism.

He better if we're going to win 57 games. No breaks if your making a million

Collin Hartman wrote a check to himself to come back for his 7th year and backup Ballo for old times sake.

Edit: Sorry for the terrible jokes, I just don't like to be told I am not fun anymore :)

Do we need a backup? Or does Ballo play 40 minutes? You guys are no fun anymore.

We for sure still need a backup but that “should” be a very limited role if Reneau spends any meaningful time at the 5, otherwise it’s a 12-15 minutes per game role. I’d guess that’s well below what Payne wants.

Payne committed to Texas A&M, another center we missed out on. He visited and everything.

Take it to the Payne thread.  LOL....

JKJK of course.   This place is getting a bit touchy.

Just Chill :farting_smiley:

Sorry Chris, I had to post this because I love your information and knew you would be a sport.

If optimism gets you 0, why are you reading and posting in a thread about transfers?

And decided to go elsewhere when Ballo committed or did you think he would of been fine in a reserve roll after starting for Minny last year?

I think a lot of people expected the money to solve the min issue. Or in other words, people thought we could pay starters/borderline starters enough to come off the bench and rotation guys to sit the bench in case we needed them situationally.

TAMU as big money, I'm told.

Because I am interested in what the team will look like roster wise. And I have given Woodson credit for doing something in the portal not many teams have done.  I have also said I am cautiously optimistic. We have a roster of players who need to make some jumps.  I’m just holding out for actual results before I’m painting my face.

Not the real world.   Kids good enough to start are going to want to start especially at other Power 5 teams with money to burn as well

I think the number of guys transferring for the purpose of winning at all costs is pretty small.  Landing someone like Goode is a really nice piece if we do. The portal is weird thing where money isn’t the only thing, so I think getting guys willing to take these roles is going to be touch and go.

Agree 100%. It’s still a sentiment I see fans express though. Sparks last year was probably in the minority and even he transferred back out once he got a taste of irregular mins off the bench.

Also, kids are going to bet on themselves. As they should.

They believe if they get the opportunity to start/play a ton they will produce and make themselves a lot more money in the long run professionally (NBA or overseas). That makes more sense than taking a bigger paycheck to sit the bench.
