Transfer Portal w IU Interest

Recommended Posts

Indiana has a complete roster to build and i can't see them getting into a bidding war over 1 guy and using up a quarter of the budget.

Louisville is filling s lot less spots as is Creighton abd they have their roster cost more in mind and are just adding a key piece so they can overpay for one or two guys

We've been portaling for years we know how this works why is everyone freaking out over a guy or two before the tournament.  Maryland got their coach yesterday.  TT doesn't have one.

Don’t think we will go after Booker as well.  Unless someone wants to perform a miracle.  He is not the kid you want.

I thought that was a given but I guess he felt the need to report it

I believe this is related to the transfer portal era.  Kids are being passed up or missed in the recruiting process in high school that are D1 worthy, then having to take spots at the D2 level.

I think D1 is also filled with a bunch of poor evaluators of talent, as well.

He's an Indiana kid, people will ask. Over on Peegs people are still starting new threads asking about Mullins despite the 5 other threads and Rabby responding 10 times that Mullins is happy with his choice, likes Murray and Hurley, will at least listen to Drock, but don't expect a miracle.

How funny would it be if our bench is Purdue guys? :)

Honestly thought Colvin and Heide are decent options benchwise - know it probably won't happen but would make me giggle.

I'd take Colvin as a starter at the 2 or 3. He could be a great defender.

It's hard to take 247 Sports seriously after how bad they whiffed on Cignetti's class + having Danny Wolf the 26th rated player in the portal and Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle, and Ballo all rated above him.

It’s more of a system issue with Rice and Ballo.  They both were cornerstone pieces for tourney teams and finished #1 and #2 in the PAC 12. Carlyle was definitely overrated but think Woodson screwed a lot of these kids.

I mean, yeah, Woodson is some of it. What's Woodson got to do with how bad Rice is at decision making on the court? What's Woodson got to do with Ballo's off the court decision making?

It's not mostly the system that was either of those two's issues.

But, again, neither should have been in Danny Wolf's stratosphere.

What's the infatuation with Mullins still other than him being from Greenfield? He looked severely overmatched last night and that was against peer-aged competition. I think he's in for a huge awakening next year. He's the Josh McRoberts of this generation in my opinion. Never won anything in high school despite boasting several individual accolades. Never will wish ill on a kid, but he had the chance to play at IU or Purdue and chose UConn. Not sure why so many are still pining for him?

If Mullins is as good in college his SO year as McRoberts was.... we absolutely want him.

All League, All defense, and All Tourney too

Hard not to feel uneasy at this point. It’s been over two weeks and we don’t have a staff, don’t have a GM, none of his players/recruits from WVU seem to want to follow him, the only portal win is a role player from DePaul, and we’re apparently being outbid for our top targets. Need to start making some moves.
If our staff is still with their teams playing, we won't hear until their season is done or they are waiting to announce all of them together. Just relax people

McRoberts never won s*** anywhere. Never got out of sectionals despite being the consensus #1 or 2 player in the country. Neither has Mullins. McRoberts Sophomore year Duke they went 22-11, 8-8 in the ACC and was upset in the first round by VCU. Who cares?

Why were they fine the year before then. Rice went from a PER of 17 under the WSU coach to 11 under Woodson.  Do you think he just got dumber in one year?  Ballo’s PER dropped to his second lowest of his career and his second lowest shooting percentage over his career. They made the choice of chasing a bag instead of getting paid more and finding a good fit for their skill sets.  The other two coaches were able to maximize them.

Because he hits shots. Open or not.  We haven’t had many of those guys. McD game doesn’t run offense.  Guys like him never flourish is all star caliber games.

Ive been saying Darryn Peterson is the dude in this class.  Last night keeps that vision alive. He’s so good.  Hope we can get guards like him someday.

In a poop league. Ball is 7ft tall... he can play anywhere. But he NEVER should have been ahead of Danny Wolf.

Ballo also got highlighted in the offense, which is why he came here, compared to AZ, where he wasn't. Ballo wasn't maximized at all at AZ.

Either way... the convo isn't about Ballo, Rice, and Woodson. It's about how in the world could you possibly watch Wolf and not have him over those two lol... He's a 7ft stretch 4.
