I bet the subtext of that quote is that SMU promised to invest a lot of money the basketball program.  They could pony up a big NIL easily if they wanted to.

I have always felt and still feel ... IF May was not hired at IU they would feel the repercussions for decades. Yet to be seen of course but .... my gut feeling is usually right.
