Honest question because I am not too familar with him.  What makes him a slime bag?  I know he was caught on tape making a "big a$$ offer" or something.  Today, with NIL he would be "the man."

There was also the whole thing about bribing that player’s finance not to be a truthful witness in a Federal Grand Jury. Oopsies.

Not this time.
I really hope some of you don't have the meltdown you had 4 years ago with BS and BD 8 years ago if BS turns us down AGAIN.
I'd love to see him come, but I will believe it if/when he signs the contract. We shall see.

Yikes. Have you ever lived in Boston or even been there?

It’s only a good place to live if you like incredible history, a clean, safe city, excellent public transportation, world class medical care, world class universities, world class arts, and world class food. It’s expensive, but if you make good money you’re gonna have to be against those other things to downvote Boston.

You forgot the other side of Boston.  :)

He clearly is a high major D1 coach.   Are you saying that any other high major D1 coach couldn’t get the same results bringing high D1 talent to the Southland conference?  I’m one of the few that actually watches the Southland outside of 1 game in March.   Of course he was always going to get those results.  And of course he will be back in a high major setting.  Him coaching in a league in the Southland is like taking a gun to a knife fight.

No I don’t think any high major D1 coach could just stroll into McNeese St and go 28-2.

I can't imagine why Stevens would ever consider coaching at IU. He is in the best of all possible basketball worlds right now. IU would be a huge step down in my opinion.

  1. Stevens has a good relationship with the current Celtics owner.  The Celtics will be sold very soon.  Who knows how he'll get along with the new owner and the new owner may want to bring in their own President of Basketball Operations.
  2. Since IU last approached him, the Celtics won an NBA Championship.  Stevens may now feel like mission accomplished with the Celtics.
  3. Stevens is 48.  There's speculation that he has the hunger to coach again.  Revitalizing his favorite childhood team may be the challenge that he's looking for.

You also thought Mike Woodson had the ability to coach this year's team to a S16/E8/F4, didn't you?

Thank goodness nobody on this board will lead the hiring process for the next coach! Whew!

I vote for Dolson to lead it, but I’d be cool with you getting on the committee. As the Joisey muscle.

Visited a few years back and everything you say is true. Had a really cool little Italy which reminded me of Rome a bit.

Yeah but you have to hear that accent all day. Lol

:farting_smiley:

Actually was shocked that we heard not a single "Boston" accent while there, but we didn't make it to south Boston, so maybe that's why.

I think ant wright sure did as well as many on twitter. They went from final four to saying what a great effort vs purdue. We almost had it. The goalpost always move with Kool aid drinkers.

My expectation was a second weekend appearance with a $6mil roster. WTF does that have to do with the Southland? You think Mike Woodson is going 28-2 in the Southland?

Brad coaching at IU isn't any stranger than Belicheck coaching football at NC.  Actually I think Brad's deal makes more sense.  What's the big pull for Bill at NC besides the money?

He was out of job and no NFL team was willing to give him head coaching/GM double duties which is something he absolutely wanted.
