A new coach would still do better than him. So there’s that.
WeeDerkaNaut Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 @Hornsby @Pagoda Thank you for the replies. So am I understanding correctly that if the school gets more revenue, players would get a higher share? But I assume as well it's probably not near as much as NIL money with the cap on it. Correct or am I misunderstanding?
IUHAHN81 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Even if Woodson pulls something out of his rear this year, one decent/good year doesn't constitute keeping a coach that hasn't proven he's good enough to extend. Maybe I'm an a$$ but I don't care how many they win this year, he's not good enough.

For Domain to do that he'd likely have at least Whiten on his side. I just don't see it happening so I need details from one of you how Buckner will pull that off. You're giving him waaaay too much credit. Hell, if it really got ugly Dolson could just back off until the summer and then fire Woodson as a f-you to Buckner on July 1. There's nothing Buckner could do to stop that and everyone knows it. It could also "leak" that the university wants to fire Woodson but Buckner is blocking it and all the dirt that entails. Destroy his legacy. I doubt Woodson has as much booster support after this disappointing season is over. Don’t forget it’s all premised on making the Tournament. That can be considered a “success” even though some had higher expectations. With most programs, that is a good year. This “success” makes administrators wishy washy and less likely to make drastic change. Thus, Dolson doesn’t have as much support for a firing as he would if we aren’t close to the tournament. It would be a bold move to fire a coach who makes the tournament, especially if you don’t have a sure thing lined up. All I’m saying is if we make the tournament, don’t be shocked if Woodson is back. It is projected to be $20 million first year, but will certainly go up in future years. WeeDerkaNaut 1

Wins are the result of sound processes — recruiting, player development, game planning, coaching, etc. Woodson is severely deficient in all of those aspects of a program, which is why his results are less than they would otherwise project to be. But it will take balls to move if the rest of the administration is good with mediocrity. Hornsby 1

I think quinn certainly wanted to be able to say Woodson rescued the program from the dead and brought it back. The reality is archie stunk but it wasn't dead Woodson started out with tjd and a decent roster. It's all bs. Crean is the only one who ever actually rebuilt it from the dead. He just could not sustain it. Woodson really hasn't done much of anything and without nil oh boy. Crean made two sweet sixeteens but never competed. In reality we have not made a tourney run since 2002. So unless Woodson can do that he didn't bring us back period. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk tkbbn and choosierred1 2

You're not an @$$ (or IF you are, you have a lot of us to keep you company :D ) But with Woodson, Buckner, Ferguson and the pockets (Cooks and Simons), logic does not appear to enter the equation... Apparently, the Parasite is still living a charmed life.
Hornsby Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 I’d like to thank the Ferguson family, Steve and his whole family because he’s been a major mentor in my life; the Cook family, Bill who is no longer with us, known him for many, many years, and he was one of my early mentors, he and Gale Cook and Carl, just a beautiful family. He has big backers. Hornsby Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 What blows my mind is watching old games and seeing how sweet the offense moved Woodson never learned a thing from knight. I get the game has changed but now but plenty of programs still have plenty of flow and off the ball stuff. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk tkbbn 1
