I see you can get balcony seats tonight for 2 bucks each.
Mid main level for 16. Woodson is cooking!

Unreal. I’m like a lot of folks - with football being so successful this year, just don’t have the energy to deal with this season.

Why are people still going to games? I have been to 1 game since Crean was fired.  The product on the court has been bad for almost a decade.

Because despite how terrible the product has been on the court it’s  still a big deal for families to take in games at Assembly Hall.  Making memories with you family is greater then holding out on going to games because your team isn’t good.

Also because you can get an awesome seat for less than 30 bucks. That's unheard of if they were good

After a joyous football season (hoosierhuddle.com is still churning out portal content...there is no offseason!), I am finding it far more difficult to just watch IUBB and not vent. Thus, my quick list on realistic candidates to replace Mike Woodson after he steps down/is coaxed into a far nicer than he deserves retirement:

1. Dusty May - appears to be the number one candidate if speculation is to be believed. Would love to see the turnover rate and the execution in close games improve but it's a fun system, he's young and I thoroughly believe he'd be successful and energize the program immediately.

2. Mick Cronin - I do believe he would listen very intently if IU called. As a little fella, I appreciate his angry prowling on the sideline and his teams always play hard. The offense is, at times, painful but when he has talent, Cronin's teams do score. At minimum, I can safely say IU would defend well, play hard and make the NCAA Tournament on a very consistent basis. That seems very palatable to me.

3. Ben McCollum - Google him. His team wins. The comparisons to Cignetti are overplayed and lazy but they are also somewhat applicable. He preaches "imposing your will" on the opposition and he has shown that he can win big with equal or even lesser talent. What could he do with superior talent to his competitors? I'd be very interested in finding out.

4. We would not need to go beyond those guys, in my opinion. I think a strong offer and promises of NIL resources would attract any of them to IU. Of course, you'd call Bruce Pearl (and he'd say no), you'd call Brad Stevens (and he'd say no). If you needed to go to options the first three: Bucky McMillan for some Bucky Ball, Chris Jans is very solid...

The point is that IU can be so much better than the program is right now. Any of the names on this list would bring an immediate level of effort and competency and I'm convinced that IU would be in a MUCH better spot as a program right away with any of them. Here's to the not-so-distant future and IU's new March Madness tradition: another coaching search!

After the Colts moved here my family went to one game a year since we knew people with season tickets. The first 10 games I went to the Colts lost but I still loved the atmosphere in a stadium. Those early years you saw a lot of 2-14 type seasons

To each their own. But I have no desire to spend my hard earned money on a program that is more than happy to take my money but not actually put a competitive product on the court. A program that’s more concerned about nepotism and politics than winning.

This is the right answer.  Empty seats is the only way they will learn.  Those attending the game want the program to suck imo.

I hear that. A buddy of mine has peacock and I’ve used it for a couple of years to watch soccer. Then they got some big ten football and basketball, so I still have access to it.

Weird at this point in the year but this is really a must win game for Indiana.  Home game vs a “lesser” team should be a win and given the lack of big wins so far they cannot afford to lose tonight. I would not be surprised to see a shorter lineup.

A win, especially a close win, does not really tell us much either. A loss though tells a lot and would likely be the precursor to the wheels falling off.

His twitter cult drooled all summer about what an incredible recruiter he was. The ant Wright guy is one of the worst he was slobbering all over woodson.

The Ant Wright thing is interesting. He’s a Michigan guy but he promotes Woodson and IU constantly. He’s smart and generally likeable. He called Dusty May, Dusty Mid all last season as that was one of his bits. He jumps on the blame Cliff Marshall train. He does give Woodson some blame at times. Just odd, almost like he’s on the payroll.

Not that odd imo. He knows that engagement lines his pockets and who, in the conference that he mostly covers, engages like IU fans? He can play both sides and get infinite clicks. I mostly just pay him attention when he’s breaking down ball. His click baiting is pretty easy to identify.

He does the "I'm wise and you dumb fans don't know what you're talking about" bit that is annoying.  Otherwise, he's not bad.

Love watching him troll other conferences though.  He is the biggest B1G homer on twitter

The wheels are off. They have been for quite some time.
