Fire Coach Woodson Thread

The apologists bought him the extra year. That radical 10% was enough support for the administration to say, let’s keep him and give him a raise.

had we had 100% solidarity he would have already been gone. Now we get to sit through another miserable season while that 10% finally comes around to seeing what the rest of us have known for a long time

We all concur, I couldn’t have said it better myself!  There is more power in numbers but apparently we didn’t have enough numbers to get rid of him!

Not wanting us to lose but yet wanting to see this man fail is such a tough spot to be in as a fan. I’ll still never miss watching a game when I’m able to watch, but so odd to not really care what the results are if it means a change can be made. I’ve been so obsessed with IU basketball the past 25 years, but the last couple/few just haven’t been as fun as I’d like them to be.

I can see Dolson moving on after this season, but I doubt it’ll be during the season unfortunately. Hope I’m 1000%wrong on that one. Let Calbert and crew take over. I think it’d be easier to root for this season to be a success if there was type of announcement that Woodson was gonna be gone after the season.

I look as this as the "hero" version of Crean coming into the dumpster fire after Sampson screwed the pooch. Fire Woodson now and let the fans rally around the rebirth of the Hoosier Nation basketball team under Cheaney's leadership. Win or lose with Calbert, the fans will be dancing in the streets at the end of the Woodson era (error?).

In 2024 IU is 348th  out of 364 teams in 3pt rate(amount of 3s taken).  Percentage is actually top 100 just need to actually shoot more  3s.    Knife to a gun fight.   Playing this style means your team basically has to play perfect from inside the arc.   When you can’t get high school kids that are shooters to come to your program or transfer portal kids that are known shooters a staff might look at being 346th as the problem.   Shooter after Shooter has looked elsewhere.  Looking forward to a new coaching staff that prioritizes playing modern basketball

Indeed. Who was it that pointed out that 33% on 3-point shots = 50% on 2s? But you make ZERO % of the shots that you don't take... and the game has totally passed Woodson by...

Quinn still thinks he is a genius and the answer to our collective woes. Both need to go now... so over their arrogance and incompetence.

Purdue lost their all-everything center from last year plus another starting forward, loses their starting center a few games into this season, yet based on early returns I'll be shocked if they're anything worse than a 3 seed in the tournament.

Just a frustrating thought I had today that I guess is a fit for this thread seeing how we are going backwards while they're going forward.

Painter is a good coach; if they had Woodson and lost that they'd be up a creek without a paddle. Probably end up losing by double digits to little sisters of the poor.

Just to add to this. I work with Billionaires associated with Duke and UNC. These people are the most pettiest people on the planet.  Buckner doesn’t want that smoke if he’s thinking about going against their wishes.  With an emerging football program new donors will arrive and if they’re being messed with, I got stories I wish I could share with you.

Yeah this echoes what I have been thinking plus Bball donors likely felt QB was a better source for basketball coach selection than Dolson. Now, given the football success and start to the Bball season the tides likely switch. Dolson has to have more pull now.

Man good thing we locked up coach cig.  Looks like OSU will be sniffing around
So we are likely in the btt championship. Meanwhile Woodson did his job.

Only in the B1G Championship with a win today (shouldn't be hard) and a PSU loss. I think PSU has the tie breaker against IU.

Back on topic, Woodson isn't a good coach. That's why this thread stayed alive even during the offseason "win." All that talent would still be coached by Woodson.

We've been going the opposite direction of them for about a decade now.

He played for RMK, but you'd never guess it.

Exactly!  I see nothing even close to what RMK played.  Turdue’s style of play is closer to RMK’s than what MW plays
