Fire Coach Woodson Thread

So, not only a bad coach, he's delusional...

Well, we technically are right in the thick of things. Might take some work but if this staff is determined we could finish in the cellar.

At Kentucky he may not have made it through that 12 game span before the fans ran him out of town.

May need to give Woodson longer. Don't want the optics of being a bunch of big meanies that keep firing the crappy coaches we keep hiring.

His supporters don’t even even to make basketball-related arguments for keeping him beyond this season anymore. It’s just ‘it’s too soon’ and ‘we’ll look impatient if we fire him.’

Or he just made the tournament. As if making a 68 team field, once via a play in game, is a big accomplishment.

It sadly shows how far the program has fallen. Woodson’s high points are getting blown out in the first round and then getting blown out in the second round the following year. We’re so far removed from being an elite program that just making the tournament in back to back years is seen as an accomplishment. Losing in the first round or second round should be a down year for IU. Not results that keep your job safe.

It's really pretty astounding what a slow and steady race to the bottom we've been on since the Mike Davis years. Crazy to think he was tarred and feathered just for missing a tournament. Ever since then, we miss it more than we make it, we struggle like hell to finish in the upper half of our conference and now we not only have fans who are mocked for living in the past, we have a team that plays like it's stuck in the past, too.

It's honestly reached a point where I'm not even sure it's fixable, no matter who inevitably replaces Woodson.

Those results keep you dafe at a place as deeply unserious as IU is. You have to be deeply unserious to hire a 60 year old with no college experience that hadn't been a HC in 10 years; take away the name Mike Woodson and not a single person here would've called it a good hire.

At the time, what Davis did was unacceptable, now it has become the "new" normal!

At this point I'm not sure it is fixable, the administration has been so unserious for so long. This past search I said if we botch this hire the program might never come back, then the administration turned around and hired a guy no one else wanted.

Davis’ last year we were a 6th seed in the tournament lol. It is rather amazing.

A Purdue buddy of mine messaged me and said

“IU coaches look like they’re done….like they don’t give a **** anymore.”

sure looked that way.

There were a couple of times Woody stood up, he seemed to engage for a moment and then sit back down!
