Bit odd to me that anyone thinks they can discern anything on a meaningful level about what they're doing or not doing for the team. Or opine on their quality as coaches. Just funny to me Hey. Free throw shooting and rebounding obviously need to improve and guard play is non-existent as our PG’s combined for 2 points. Gallo is our point guard. Think he had 0 turnovers and would like to see what his +/- was tonight. 7 assists and sat for awhile in foul trouble and got dinged up a little late. In reality all three handled the ball but Gallo should be the primary ball handler. We are so much better with him in that role and he is better with the ball in his hands. It just sucks he doesn’t have a running mate. Or maybe he does. #Free Leal. pappy1865, thebigweave and BGleas 3 Quote

Cupps has to figure something out on offense. He passes on good looks and the crowd moans so then he puts up a worse look. It’s a learning process. I thought his defense was really good tonight. He made a handful of plays especially early in the game. thebigweave and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Props to Gallo and the entire front line. They were all absolutely excellent tonight. Minnesota plays really hard. A night without real effort from us would’ve been a major problem. Home Jersey and FortWayneHoosier 2 Quote
Bowhunter Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Good win. I almost wish Purdue was coming off a win but we should keep it close if we rebound and defend the perimeter. My biggest fear is foul trouble to our main 3 guys Quote

He made a handful of plays especially early in the game. His defense is generally pretty good for a freshman, and Woody values that. Maybe his offensive rhythm will come this year yet and maybe next. I agree with your assessment on shot selection with the caveat that I thought he’s been a little more aggressive and that’s good. He’s been a solid B/B+ for a freshman that realistically should be getting spot rotation minutes here and there. At his best X is still our best perimeter defender and dynamic playmaker. He’s as big of a head case that we’ve had here in some time. I have no idea how the rest of the season plays out for him. ALASKA HOOSIER and Home Jersey 2 Quote

Gallo needs to be our point guard and I would like to see Woodson work either Gunn or Leal into the shooting guard and bring Cupps off the bench. X will just play mop up minutes and cheerleader! 8bucks Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Minn had a better record than I thought they would. Had not followed them and they are not world beaters but certainly have done better than I expected. They have some talent too. Will be a team to watch Home Jersey and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
