Be something if a kid we recruited to be a back-up turns out to be the locker room alpha and kicks some needed a$$.

How about a little flip of the script for the "we said this roster sux in may and got laughed at" crowd:

A lot of people laughed when folks were excited about grabbing a low-minutes, super athletic, position-less wing with Final Four experience out of the portal.

He is exactly what I expected him to be and will be a major reason this team goes dancing if/when it happens.

I know, it just makes no logical sense.  IMO, both were home games.

Not for me.  The games were not played on campus so for me no matter what the crowd situation is they should be neutral court games.   B1G tourney is played in the same building so those games shouldn’t count as home games for Purdue or IU

St.John’s is trying to get a lot of their games played in MSG.  Should those all be neutral court?

I do understand your point about the BTT, though.

No since the school is willingly given up their campus games to play there then they should be counted as home games.  If IU willingly gave up their home game to play in Indy and agreed to it then that’s on them and it should counted as a home game.  There is a rule about the number  of games being played on a ncaa tourney neutral court game.   Teams can only play a certain amount of games on those.  I need to look that up again

If St John’s season ticket holders package include these games then it’s going to be counted as home games.    IUs situation was that it wasn’t included in season ticket holders package.    Either way IU needs to appeal that game to get it counted as a neutral court game

Not making excuses for IU poor performance but Morehead is the pre season pick to win their conference so a pretty solid team.
I guess but penn state beat them by 24

I would like to believe him but doubt it.  So does he mean the rest of the year 2023?  Hell we make be talking about this again tomorrow.  We all know that we will be talking about lack energy in the very near future.

Was anyone at the game/happen to notice what our staff does during timeouts?

Something small I noticed watching this game back was in the TO huddles, we had a small whiteboard with our player's initials = jersey # -I'm wondering if we had any other whiteboards that were being used to track stats/help make points of emphasis for the coaches.

When I was at the Empire Classic, I was right next to the end of their bench and they had two medium sized whiteboards tallying things like deflected passes, dives for balls, forced turnovers, etc.

Our guys tend to look like they're thinking a lot - too much - and it usually causes issues... step or two slow, bad shot, turnover, etc. I'd imagine as a coaching staff, you'd rather be able to emphasize those kinds of effort/IQ related plays in TOs than remind everyone who their man is. Suppose they don't feel like they can trust the players at this point given the defensive struggles, rightfully so.

I'd like to assume we're doing something similar to UConn as well and I just couldn't see it, but I'd interested if anyone can confirm.

Don't misinterpret this as a criticism into the staff's approach... the Hurley way is not the only way... despite what people in NJ/CT will have you believe!

He is the answer to our lack of guard depth.

And he needs to come off the bench when he is activated until the staff is confident he’s 100% healthy but knowing how CMW works, he’ll immediately insert him into the starting lineup. I hope that is not the case though.

But wasn’t that in November?  Teams improve as the season goes on.  I believe they won 6 in a row before we beat them!
