Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

Any idea what changes Allen might be referring to? Facilities, assistant coaching salaries, NIL, portal? Or just deflecting blame?

He is deflecting blame, but we do need help in everything you listed also.

Mellencamp is an embarrassing disaster. It’s dangerous to even practice in. They don’t even show it to recruits. A rusty, dark, dirty cave with uneven turf. The stadium itself needs quite a bit of love too. Meeting rooms/player lounge/locker room are actually surprisingly nice, however.

Allen had to pay, with his own money, to fire an already poorly paid OC.

We probably have 4 guys earning serious NIL money. We probably need some sort of collective situation like Utah has to get everybody a nice chunk. We don’t have anything like that, to my knowledge.

Jason Candle is the man after listening to his post game interview for 15 minutes 11-1 and victory over Ball State and in recent years solid win over Akron plus played Illinois tough. Did I hear a little bit of hot head?  Or just no nonsense.  Definitely no nonsense.  23 ranking and very complementary of players success.  And stated, “ “ ask the players, we haven’t won anything.  We have more football to play and we are trying to get where we want to go.”  Very Coach Teri Moren like in breaking down game and talking about players including passing game and Quarterback development and their individual work.  Jason Candle is the man and would be excellent for IU.  Let’s go!

Sidenote:  remember the recommendation by Bob Knight to hire Bill Mallory.

Sidenote:  Brady Hoke did not work at Michigan.  However, IU is not Michigan.

Is he graduating?  He already transferred so he has to sit out unless he’s graduating.

Might be getting Sorsby and Jackson confused.

Sorsby came to IU right out of high school, then redshirted -- so he's still got three years of eligibility.

Jackson went to Tennessee, then transferred to IU, but he's nowhere near graduating.

Was he committed somewhere else?  Maybe that’s what I am mistaken on

Don’t see anything on his 247 timeline, but no big deal either way. Could just be thinking of Tayven too.

His offer list is actually embarrassing compared to how well he played for us. I think we were his only FBS/non-Academy offer.

IU is going to lose 40-50 guys via graduation/portal regardless of who is hired. Better hire someone who knows what the hell they are doing.

(Dolson in a suit)

Exactly. Otherwise we'll just get more of what CTA was bringing. A coach who didn't know what he was doing, and losing his best players and coaches year in year out.

Boy if we dropped 15 mil to just hire Frye…

I understand he’s former player but how can you claim we are taking things seriously when we are taking a flyer on someone with no HC experience.

Osterman's put out an article with about 279 names and Frye's one of the names.  Pay no attention to the man behind the byline.

Yeah, NO. Just. No.
