We've made 15 threes in five games. Were the Archie teams ever that bad? Doesn't seem possible.

Doubtful. Last year the worst team in Div 1 at making 3’s was Monmouth at 134 over 33 games for an average of 4.0 made 3’s per game. If your stats are correct we’re at 3.0 per game or on pace to likely finish dead last in the country.

Cool.  If UT's shot doesn't fall and Louisville wins....they are still sucky.  2-23 against in their last 25 games against power conference teams.  They lost to Chattanooga and only beat UMBC by 1.  I hope they do get better just so they finish in the top 200 NET and it's a quad 3 win.  But they were 315 last year, so 200 might be a stretch....because they are sucky.

First - for sure they’ve been horrible, including last season. Hysterically bad. Hookerville’s just deserts.

But second, context. My simple point to Stu was he was lucky we pulled it out, after calling Ville sucky. We were almost below sucky. That was, i thought kind of obviously, humor.
For what it’s worth, do you think we would’ve almost beaten UT? I don’t. I think they would’ve destroyed us. Ville is bad, but they’re showing signs of life, that was an impressive fight, and but for a shift to zone at the end, they probably beat us.

I’m  still laughing at the multiple betting site analysts who picked Ville to beat us by 7, against the line. :)

1-11 from 3. Galloway a no show on offense. Subpar games from Ware and Reneau by their standards. And we got the W.

We have to take it. It’s ugly. It’s always going to be ugly when you can’t shoot.

The Zone did it. I wonder who in the huddle suggested it? I don’t think it was Woodson’s idea.

Gotta like what Walker and Banks offered. And X had a good finish.

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I’m pretty happy with the learning path and adjustments we’ve made. This was not a final four lineup. Once we hit on all cylinders, we’re going to be okay

I’ve been thinking along the same lines and am hoping you’re right. I’m more encouraged by the somewhat surprising shift to zone, reflecting a non-stubborn move by Woodson. I’m pretty concerned though by the continued emphasis on the inside game while missing almost all of the 3’s we are taking— though flip side there, do like that Gallo is still putting them up (they’ll start to fall) and that Bako is starting to shoot. The people saying he can’t shoot do not know his game, they will start falling too if he gets the shots up, gotta get him comfortable and understanding the plays/sets.

And last year we were 352 in attempts, but we actually shot at a pretty high percentage. It doesn’t look like we’ll have that luxury this year, so I would fully expect us to be in the bottom 10 or so teams in 3P made at our current rate.

Archie’s teams were pretty bad, but not quite that bad.

I get it.  It's just that Stu is correct -- Louisville is sucky.  A win over us would just mean we lost to a sucky team.  They lost to Kentucky Wesleyan in an exhibition.  They needed late heroics to beat Maryland Baltimore County.  They lost at home to Chattanooga by 10.  The one point loss to Texas is the exception, not the rule....they were simply a sucky team that had a good game.

The former is absolutely unacceptable

I think we should have at least 15 attempts per game, but I am looking at this team and I am wondering who will shoot them and be able to knock them down consistently?  Trey hasn’t looked good shooting them and has seem to have lost his confidence shooting them.  Gunn hasn’t come close and Mgbako can’t stay on the floor long enough to be a consistent option.  X is really the only one who can knock them down at a decent percentage, but that’s really it and he won’t shoot 10 of them a game, more like 3-5 per game.

I was wondering who suggested it too.
