I believe that had now changed. I think they now have unlimited OV per year but can only OV any school once ever. So if he doesn't reclassify, IU wouldn't be able to get another OV from him.

Yep the rule changed recently. Unlimited amount of OV but can only visit a school once on OV.      If a kid takes a Junior year official to a school then he can’t take OV to that school his senior year.

The annual, dare I say, Sam Story email came out today with an interesting tidbit on Joson. He says HE initiated the contact with IU and is very Pro-IU. He also says he is a 2024 reclass with a late-spring/early summer announcement.

I see Syracuse and Arizona also recently offered. I wonder if he sought those offers as well.

In a season opening win, Sanon with 22p and 9r.

You can watch this game (video only) at:  https://fan.hudl.com/usa/vt/saxtons-river/organization/12801/vermont-academy/watch?s=U2NoZWR1bGVFbnRyeTIzOTg3MTc1      Teams played 20 min. halves with a 30 sec. shot clock.   Sanon is #3 and has a wrap on his left wrist/thumb but it didn't seem to effect his play.

Vermont Academy defeated Redemption Christian Academy 93-78 in a typically sloppy first game.  I scored him with 7-18 FG; 1-5 on 3s and 7-8 FT.  He played roughly 22 min. in total.  He was just 1-5 FG in the first half and missed his first 4 shots of the second half but then went 6-8 the rest of the way.

Jamie Shaw from Day 1 of the National Prep Showcase.

Joson Sanon came into the National Prep Showcase with a top-20 number beside his name. In his lone game of the weekend, he got a nice head-to-head matchup with 2025 On3 150 No. 32 Niko Bundalo and came away with the win.

Sanon showed his smooth shooting ability. He is very smooth getting into his shot off the bounce. Playing within two and three dribbles, he attacked his spots on the elbow – going both ways – and rose up with balance and a consistent release. Off the catch, the shot was a little different. He short-armed a couple, leaving them short or off. The touch is there, and the jump shot is his weapon, he will need to continue smoothing things out off the catch.

Athletically, Sanon is there. He was a very useful team defender in this one. He guarded the ball on the perimeter and he caused trouble in the passing lanes. Sanon also rebounded his position well. Nothing was forced with him and the ball did not stick in his hands.

Vermont Academy Boys' Prep Basketball @VermontAcadHoop

Last week, Joson Sanon made his 117th 3-Pointer in a Vermont Academy uniform. With this shot, he passed former VA great Symir Torrence (Marquette, Syracuse, Binghamton) for 1st All-Time in career 3-Pointers made at VA. Congrats!

Sanon, Queen, and Davis added to McNeeley and a portalist would be beyond any expectations

I’d like that a lot although we need a guard with offensive potential that is ready to go.  Id want to start Galloway at the 1. If Cupps is our starter with Davis as his backup I see that as a disadvantaged position from jump.

Newton, Sanon, Gunn, Cupps, Davis to find one player to pair with Gallo. Gotta be reasonable; that’s a lot of potential choices.

I’m worried it’ll be Cupps. But yeah.  I’m also not convinced Gunn stays unless he gets things a little more figured out this year.

That would be a fantastic class. Shooting. Playmaking. Primary and secondary facilitation.  Winning pedigree. Any coach would be pleased to work with that.
