(2024) - SF- Annor Boateng to Missouri

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I put out a list the other day.  Staff’s #dreambig24 isn’t seeming to go the way they were hoping.

IF we get Queen and McNeely thats a hell of a coup by itself and we can TP other spots as necessary.

I still worry that if McNeeley doesn’t see us setting up to be a top program next year that could steer his choice.

2023 fall was bad also we struck out of everyone. Liam does not seem like a sure thing at all. We saved this grant for year but we can't get a verbal so far We likely will have 4-6 spots to fill but I only know of three guys we still have a shot with.

Woody gonna cook something extra special in 2024 isn’t he?

This kid is so good. I feel like Woody sees him as a 2.  The Kel’el Ware connection might prove huge here.  Let’s hope.
So far he isnt.

Bummer.  Not sure who we look at in the 2 spot.

We seemed to somewhat back off Mustaf, Passmore, and Swartz more than the other way around too. I think Harper is a next to zero chance.   Seems like Rutgers, Duke, KU.  But with Duke getting Kon maybe it’s more Rutgers vs KU.

Good chance Galloway returns, and CJ(unless he transfers) will be a junior

I guess I’m not as concerned about this as many others. I never felt that we were a legit contender for Boateng. Finish the class with McNeeley, Queen, and Boogie….. fill in gaps with transfers and returners. I’m not even remotely worried yet.

Of those McNeeley seems to be the only one we lead with.  Could things change if he gets on board? Sure. There's time, but I can see some reason for concern as the chances of landing that type of outstanding class appear to be dwindling.

You are spot on with that. Getting pelted early in the tourney is never helpful.

Getting deeper in the tournament requires better players. Getting better players requires getting deeper in the tournament. Sounds like the age old chicken and egg debate. Maybe this is the year we catch lightning in a bottle.

Getting deeper in the tournament also requires the players that we have to play better in a "survive and advance" game.

I'll agree with that. We had some players who fit the description of "playing smaller in bigger games" or "never met a challenge they didn't back down from". And yes, that includes a couple of fan favorites.
