Really good stuff there.  I expect in the second match up that Purdue will look to have Furst on Trayce and Edey on Thompson/Reneau.  That would mean a bigger emphasis on Thompson and Reneau's play because that could force Edey out higher if they are effect in PnR or if they could hit (especially Race) a couple of outside shots.

Here are some where  edey was guarding Race

Uggghhhhh. Okay. I’m a reasonable person (sometimes). I’ve listened to, and considered several opinions. I come to you fools with my tail tucked ready to admit that, though my opinion here is more nuanced that should fit into a message board post….I get it. And I’m fine with court storm on Saturday.

I’m also not trying to start another conversation on this (lively!) topic so mods, feel free to toss this post in the bin.

Yep.  Edey is a beast but looked like it was a bad matchup for him when he was forced to defend TJD or when he was forced to come out and guard the screener, whether it was Race or TJD.

The goal against Purdue isn't to have your big outscore Edey, because it won't happen often.  It's to keep it close enough that you outscore the rest.  IU was able to force him out on defense enough to put him where he didn't want to be defensively.

It's OK Nashville I didn't want us to storm either but knew we would if we could get the win. We're not the great team we once were we need to get Back to being expected to win and to good to storm. That's the goal! Go Hoosiers!

From tonight's radio show

Woodson on Jalen Hood-Schifino: "I think we put so much pressure on him as probably fans and media because we've seen him do a lot of good things for our ball club and you expect that every game...And the fact that he bounced back after the game he had up in Maryland says a lot."

Trayce Jackson-Davis: "The day before Purdue, I was dragging a little bit and then coach Ya came up to me and he was like 'this team goes as you go.' And I looked at him and I said 'Coach, I got you. We're gonna be ready for tomorrow.'"

Trayce Jackson-Davis said the Wisconsin game was "when our defense clicked."

TJD on his shot blocking: "I knew I always had potential to block shots, but they (old coaching staff) always wanted me on the weak side rebounding."

Race Thompson says he feels his sprained MCL is getting close to 100%: "It's getting better every week."

TJD on the four freshman: "I know whenever I am gone and Race is gone, I know those four will carry the program."

Trayce Jackson-Davis on Kaleb Banks: "Kaleb's been really, really solid the last few games."

TJD said he is about four classes away from graduating. Said his major is Sports Marketing and Management and be an agent once his playing career is over.

Race Thompson graduated last season and confirmed he is just taking 'filler classes' to remain eligible. Said he did not want to get into grad school.

I thought they had to be working towards a degree of some sort, not just taking classes. Guess I was wrong.

I believe they get their last semester (maybe it's year) to take whatever they want.

The last semester makes sense since they don't have to worry about maintaining eligibility for the next season. The whole year thing is what has me surprised.

A nice photo of Mathurin and Nembhard sitting three seats away from Flory Bidunga and Gabe Cupps.

ALSO NOTABLE!

A truly amazing move - in the middle of the game, per this photo it appears that Miller Kopp snuck into the stands and is sitting three rows behind Flory Bidunga.

Speaking of look-alikes....never realized the striking resemblance TG has to Robert Smith9cdf58ef0dd0c93462309ed5e323bf16.jpg

My 6 year old has said all season that his favorite player is Miller Kopp, 23 games in I realized it was Trey Galloway
