I think next 2 games are going to be very telling with this team. If IU gets blown out @Illinois and then lose at home to Iowa… Then it will get very very very ugly.
I would plan on getting blown our at illinois. They are a good team.

Here’s the risk Woodson runs at this point. Hoosier legend. Everybody loves the guy. Came home to coach the home team. Didn’t go well. The longer he hangs on to this the more that legacy ends up being tarnished. If I’m Woodson, I take a graceful exit, thank IU for the opportunity, and salvage my legacy before it gets trashed by the overshadow of a failed coaching job.

Exactly my thought if he stays another year and it's a dumpster fire his legacy will be that. But his ego may be massive enough for him to think he can turn it around with the same system he has been running

I mean... do we really need to see 2 more games to know what this team is? Was tonight not already very very very ugly?

I almost have no words anymore after tonights performance. There will hopefully be some more bright spots along the way but this season is fully an unmitigated disaster at this point and little chance of that trajectory turning around.

You've got to think a few more performances like tonight and Buckner/May, etc. sort of have to start that conversation with Mike. Or hope anyway.

If you can get Dusty this year rip the ******* bandaid off

He has been in the NCAA tourney a total of one time (granted he made the FF but after winning the first round game by a point). Maybe he would work out but I don’t understand the certainty that he is “the guy”.

Would people want Dusty May if he didn’t have IU history? Because he really seems like the latest mid major flavor of the month. Would be hard to get excited about the hire and little reason to believe we’d be competitive immediately with him.

Don't kid yourself this was buckners baby. Will probably be very hard for him to admit it's not working

The more I think about it, the more frustration builds with Dolson. This is really his fault. What was he expecting? Woodson had zero coaching experience at the college level. He had no understanding of any nuances. They pretty much had to build his staff for him. It’s gets more and more embarrassing the further you step back and reflect. This was a house of cards from the onset. We’ve essentially been relying on Archie Miller’s Indiana staff to get our 60+ year old nba coach caught up to speed. What….An….EMBARRASSMENT!!

I’ll say this. If I were the owner of a franchise and my general manager botched a hire this badly, there is no scenario in which he would be around to make the next hire.

Dolson is either not fit for the job, or the rumors of Brad Stevens leaving us with our pants down, has to be true.

Same guy hired Cig.

I get what you’re saying but it’s basketball not rocket science. I would expect any coach with a brain could figure out the nuisances between levels in short order.  As long as his ego let him.  I don’t  think woody is adapting life he needs to.

Look at the all time records of FAU coaches, he’s been very impressive

I want Pearl. This will be my 3rd time wanting Pearl but he isn't getting hired. It will be May or Woodson. I don't know if May can do the job or not but I'd much rather watch him try than watch this same crap for another year. It really seems we wanted to have as close to the Archie system as possible when we hired Woodson.

Cig hasn't done a damn thing here yet so let's hold off on that as a feather in his cap. I say that with full belief in Cig.

He’d be like any other mid-major coach with a fluke tourney run. I don’t think many people understand how many things had to go right for FAU to get out of the first weekend.

May would definitely be an upgrade from Woodson, but there’s no real concrete evidence he’d be able to win at a high level for an extended period of time here.

This is typical IU.  Woodson would not have been considered for any other high level college job.  Is there any coach in the B1G that you can say he’s clearly better than?  I used to dread the talk of an Alford hiring but that doesn’t scare me anymore……..

He actually has.  Improved the roster.  Improved the coaching staff. For starters.  But I get your point. He’s won as many games as I have.  Still not ready to throw Dolson to the ditch.

As much as I’m excited about Cig….. he hasn’t proven anything on the field yet. Dolson also hired Woody and gave Tom Allen a huge raise.

I agree with you.  May has looked good and has IU history but we need to set our sights on a proven power 5 coach if we are conducting the search right.  We poached Sampson from Oklahoma and my guess is we’d have another banner if not for all the shenanigans.
