Also at work. We have so many weekend games this year that I have to miss ugh

Yes we have 8 Saturday games. I know of at least 1 Friday game. I'm planning watch parties already.

So jealous. This is the 1st time I havent been on M-F schedule, and it seems all our prime games are on Saturdays for sure. Throw back and extra drink or 2 at the watch party!

I know this will happen in our exhibition games but I hope in the non-conference games (NOT UNC, Xavier, Zona, or Kansas) that if IU has a comfortable lead they play the "2nd unit". Race, Xavier, and Miller are all for sure gone next year. Trayce probably is as well. If Jalen impresses he could be. For the 23-24 season this team needs Trey, Tamar, Jordan, Malik, Kaleb, and the rest to really step up. Don't get me wrong, the starters need to play. However, if IU is up 20 with 8 minutes to go, play the reserves. They need meaningful reps. I think as the season goes on the rotation will shrink a little. Get these guys the reps now. I think it will help long term. There will probably be a little drop off next year but I don't want it to be IU has a good year and follows it with a bad year of missing the tournament.

100% agree.

Also agree and for the additional reason of taking steps to minimize chances for injuries. I suspect we'll see guys like Ren get a lot of run in these early games in any event, much like we saw Bates get a lot of run early last season, but imo Bates, JG and Gallo (full conditioning depending) need a lot of run as they will be the key guys off the bench going forward into the season (and one of them may work his way into the starting lineup).

Just finished watching IU/Wyoming again. I didn't remember how poorly we played offensively. Defense was OK, but Parker Stewart was a huge liability all game long. Kopp didn't do much either. We don't win the game without TJD and Geronimo.

Tempers my enthusiasm for this year until I actually see some huge improvement on the court.

Worth noting that Wyoming only had one double digit loss last year and held 21 of their 34 points to 66 or less (IU scored 66).  It was a decent team.

Duly noted, but our offense sucked big time, except for TJD and JG overall play. We must have missed at least 10 bunnies at the rim. Parker couldn't hit anything, (I don't thinkhe hit one three, but I could be wrong) neither could Kopp, and Stewart's defense was worse than mine. And yet he's on the floor god knows how many minutes.

We should have won that game by at least 15+. And it should have been a double digit lead for most of the game if we had any offense.

Lots of games that went that way. Offensive ineptitude for 4/5th of the season. Parker was bad for a long time (no one really stole his spot, but he got WAY too many minutes). There were certainly some coaching/personnel question marks.

I would have gotten rid of the hockey subs, played Galloway in Stewart’s spot and played Geronimo in Kopp’s spot. We couldn’t shoot anyway, so it didn’t matter.

We get to do it all over again soon and overanalyze it all starting in 3 days and I’m stoked.

I'm gonna take it easy on the analysis for the exhibition games, because that's an opportunity to do a bunch of trial and error on lineups, sets, defenses, etc. Not even a dress rehearsal IMO. Moorehead state will be the dress rehearsal.

It's just after watching the Wyoming game, it brought me back down to earth on the expectations of this team. Yes, we should be far better than last year...but honestly that wouldn't take a whole lot.

Sure hope we're as good as advertised, and I'll be rooting hard for them every minute. But with the experience we have back, we better not average 10+ TO's per game, nor stand around and watch TJD go 1 on 3 in the paint.

I’m very high on JG (along with Bates and Gallo). Seems somewhat clear to me from his recent interview that his role is going to be driven by rebounding, hustle plays and rim runs — nothing wrong with that if ohers are bringing it offensively, but he has way more potential than that, hoping to see that potential get more realized this season, take more shots, grow his perimeter D and show improved handle

One good thing is Parker is not on the team any longer and JHS will be getting his minutes.
