Saw a post on the HSN board that some guy tweeted that TJD has signed an NIL deal with Pennzoil.

My question is: Why would he sign an NIL deal 30 days before the end of the season, go thru all of the NIL red tape, if he wasn't coming back. If he's going pro, he could just wait 30 days and sign the deal without the NIL hoops. (no pun intended)

This could be a very good signal that he's back. And IF Woody can get a Hulk Hogan type guy for the 5, or any legitimate guy for the 5, then TJD could become the 4 we wanted him to be. Develop that outside shot, drive, and be that stretch 4 guy.

Interesting...

Edit: Just got shot down on the other board saying that it's probably a short term deal tied in with the 500. Could very well be, but I have my story and I'm sticking to it !!

It's since been reported that his deal is just a credit card to help with future maintenance charges for his vehicle.

We definitely do. Six years is a long time to stay at a school. I know some people who did IU undergrad + law school and they were kind of over Bloomington by the end of it. He’ll have several options to choose from. I imagine he’d be a very sought after transfer player. One of his teammates left and is on a top 10 team, and another teammate left last year and went to the elite 8. I don’t want to derail the thread, but he could see an opportunity to follow in their footsteps.

Race will get a call from every top 10 program in the nation. He doesn't need to score 18PPG for them, but he'd be that role player who programs need to win it all.

Everytime I read a post about Race leaving, I keep hearing his quote in my head: "How can you say No, to Coach Woodson"...

I could see Race as a transfer option tbh.  But Woodson has let him play his game including shooting lots of 3s many coaches would have shut down.  I, too, hope he stays.  Any decision by race would be understandable to me.

I really don’t see Race transferring!  I either see him staying and developing his game 1 more year under Woodson or he will play somewhere professionally.  I can actually see the later more so than him transferring

That I doubt. But maybe…top 10 teams need decent back-ups. Currently, he’s the second best post player on a fringe top 40 team.

I’d guess if he transfers it will be to some place where he thinks he can showcase his talents for a chance at overseas ball. Ideally he stays. But if he is really thinking about transferring it makes me wonder if TJD isn’t at least giving serious consideration to coming back.

Conjecture?

He's not practicing at all and our last game is in a few days.  I guess it's a little conjecture, a little educated guess, a little groin pull experience

That guy has been snakebit this year. Hopefully he’s ready in a week or two.

Big, big game tomorrow night!!!  I will absolutely have to say tomorrow nights game against Rutgers is the biggest game IU will play so far this season, probably the biggest game in several years! We have to bring it tomorrow night and match Rutgers intensity and effort!

GO HOOSIERS!!!

I’ve had my own groin pull exp, ugh no fun lol, but was back out and running a little over 2 weeks. I don’t know if it’s a groin pull with him, was just a guess, but hope he can get back on the court by b1g tourney

You don't seem to like IU or even Bloomington, Indiana very much.
