So we have 6 academic seniors but only Race & Rob going through senior ceremonies. It sounds like that is because Woodson is like Knight and only letting 4 years IU guys do senior night this year.

It's interesting hearing him say the players need to decide what they want to do next year, but we as coaches also have to decide who we want back. Beat Rutgers, make the tourney and figure everything else out later.

Boy, I really misread what Woodson said last night. So Race & Parker giving speeches. That has to mean that Rob is coming back, along with X, add in JHS that probably means Lander is gone.

I'm really overthinking this today. Anyway let's just beat Rutgers

Sounds like you are still reading into something that hasn’t been decided one way or the other.  In what Woodson said, Race and Parker hasn’t made any decisions on staying or leaving.  And I didn’t see or read anything about Lander.  I think they waiting until after the season.

Well, why would Rob who has been here 4 years not go through senior day if he wasn't coming back?

Rob's quote makes it hard not to read into these things. I think it was something to the effect of him leaving the COVID year on the table so he's not participating in senior night ceremonies. Race and Parker ARE participating....yet they also haven't decided about their COVID year? Doesn't make sense for all of them to be undecided but for only some of them to participate in senior night stuff.

Shy, doesn’t like speaking in front of 17,000 fans, or he could be coming back.  Who knows, but we won’t know anything until after the season.

But that is the way CMW left it.  There won’t be any decisions until after the season.  I still think Race will come back.

Anything is possible but Parker Stewart has a speech impediment and if he's willing to do it then being shy shouldn't be a reason.

But I agree we won't know much until a few weeks

I didn’t know that about Stewart.  If anyone leaves after the season, I would say Stewart would.

Not as odd to me as Colin Hartman going through senior day, proposing to his gf, and then coming back for another season lol.

Didn't he find out she was sleeping with someone else on the team?? There is a story there I remember or maybe it was one of his friends.

Or Yogi thinking his g/f for late-night massages. Sorry back on track, we have never lost to Rutgers on senior night.

Saw a post on the HSN board that some guy tweeted that TJD has signed an NIL deal with Pennzoil.

My question is: Why would he sign an NIL deal 30 days before the end of the season, go thru all of the NIL red tape, if he wasn't coming back. If he's going pro, he could just wait 30 days and sign the deal without the NIL hoops. (no pun intended)

This could be a very good signal that he's back. And IF Woody can get a Hulk Hogan type guy for the 5, or any legitimate guy for the 5, then TJD could become the 4 we wanted him to be. Develop that outside shot, drive, and be that stretch 4 guy.

Interesting...

Edit: Just got shot down on the other board saying that it's probably a short term deal tied in with the 500. Could very well be, but I have my story and I'm sticking to it !!

It's not very hard to sign an NIL, they've made it extremely easy for student athletes, probably even more so at a big time program and university like Indiana.

And he's probably not going to be signing with a big time agent or agency so there's really no signing bonus for him for a while. He's more than likely a second round pick and his contract won't be fully guaranteed so why not earn some money prior to the league!

No idea, but the two of them did end up breaking up…

I had forgotten about the Yogi/massage story, lol. Senior nights under Archie were always a little odd too. You could usually sense that he and the players weren’t very close.

Worried about Race leaving. We need him bad next year!

We definitely do. Six years is a long time to stay at a school. I know some people who did IU undergrad + law school and they were kind of over Bloomington by the end of it. He’ll have several options to choose from. I imagine he’d be a very sought after transfer player. One of his teammates left and is on a top 10 team, and another teammate left last year and went to the elite 8. I don’t want to derail the thread, but he could see an opportunity to follow in their footsteps.
