I'm sorry but I think it's coaching malpractice that kid doesn't play more. For some reason I have a sick feeling he will hit the portal due to lack of playing time. He was so close to leaving last year. I can see him being a starter next year. He should be getting WAY more than 12 minutes a game.

He’s set for a ton of playing time next year with the front court players gone.

I think it’s because he has trouble on defense and wants to work on it, that’s the way I see it

I think he’s solidly a Hoosier next season. Absolutely agree he should play more and just posted that, but he’s gaining ground, he’ll be a major minute guy next season

Glad you all are talking me outside of thinking he would be gone. I just wouldn't be surprised to see Race return. He improved a lot under Woody. Jordan I would say is probably our second our third most improved returning player so that's a good thing.

Race and G up front would be fun

It would. Again, I think he benefited the most from Woodson. He really improved his game. I wonder what another season could do. It's not like he's going to the NBA this year. Why not return? We will see...hopefully more basketball to be played.

Don’t care. We’d all have been happy with a one point win earlier in the day. We stink at closing games out, but that’s why you get up big in the first place.,

Good road win. Knight teams went up there and lost. We’re knocking on the door of the tourney.

Let’s go baby!!!!

Somewhere around '89 RMK's team lost there by 50

Only starter who played over 31 minutes was Parker Stewart….who got 35.
I don’t get it.  If there is anyone you don’t want in the court when you have a big lead, it’s him.  Get your best defenders out there.
This would actually contribute to the argument as to why we went on our slide defensively. Parker was one of the starters playing with the second unit when we were trying to gove some starters the rest of the night off being up 25.

IU did play well for about 3/4 of the game. Minny did go on a streak...a huge streak for 8 minutes.

Agreed. If Minny came out hot and IU roared back to a 5pt win the mood on here for some  would be completely different. It’s no secret we can’t close games. We have awful guard play and can’t hit FT’s, so we’ll never close games well until that improves. I’m with you and choose to give a little credit to the staff for a good gameplan and the team for coming out ready to compete on the road in a big spot.

Btw, Wisconsin has the best guard in the B1G and another senior guard who hits FT’s and doesn’t turn the ball over, and they are the best team in country in close games. I think they are closing in on a historic rating in Kenpoms “luck” rating (which is really just a measure of how well you do in close games and deviate from his predictor rating).

I dream of the day IU returns to smart basketball and great guard play, but for now we have the team that we have. At this point I don’t see much changing. *If* we get into the tourney, our matchups, more than anything else, will decide if we have a chance to steal a game or two.

Jordan Geronimo’s line in only 13 minutes tonight?

10 points on 4/5 fg, 2/2 ft, 3 rebounds, a block, and no turnovers.

Hot stuff.

Good stuff for a rotation guy. He has the tools to be special. His aggressiveness will have to grow with his skill set. Let’s hope he’s more Victor Oladipo than Andre Patterson in that regard.

His jumper looks really good too, imo. Lots to work with there.

Parker Stewart played very well tonight.

It helps when he’s guarding Loewe, who never drives.

It’s a problem, IMO, if it’s considered a good game for him and he scored 5 points in 35 minutes.  He played better defense than normal but shooters who aren’t shooting the ball is no bueno.

An IU fan can be quite happy with the win over Minnesota and still be quite concerned by the team's pattern of blowing leads.

For sure. I just don’t think all the concern in the world is going to change who we are at this point. Maybe I’m wrong about that…who knows. But I fully expect this season to end with us playing crappy, mainly from the perimeter, in a tight game.

At this point I’m content to see us navigate our obvious flaws to pick up needed wins. The 5 game Feb losing streak was brutal for everyone.

I don’t have a problem with that.  Just seems a lot of people emphasizing the second over the first.  We won a must win game…..everything else is secondary.

I just watched the last 10 minutes again...I think Woody should have called a couple of timeouts in that stretch. I think he wanted these guys to play through it and not have to coddle them during a bad stretch, but in hindsight, he needed to do more to break Minny's momentum. It all worked out, and some of those shots for the Gophers that fell in were ridiculous and could probably never be duplicated by them again!

I feel good about getting this win on the road....if the Hoosiers can continue to hit some outside shots and TJD stays out of foul trouble, they can beat Rutgers and put a scare into the Boilers!

I think 20 wins gets them to the Dance!

He’s gotten better in some areas but down the stretch he seems to have reverted back to going strictly left down the stretch.  Earlier in the year he was going right but wasn’t shooting with his right.  Earlier in the year he was taking a few outside shots but totally abandoned it in early December.  He is a much better passer out of the post than he used to be too!
Yes I think he has benefited but his draft stock probably has not.  I don’t know if he were to stay one more year if he could raise his draft stock.

He looked so uncomfortable in the first half on the other block. Seemed like it was fairly early in the game. Opponents have definitely figured him out imo. His last 11 games he’s averaging 13 ppg 7.8 rpg and a little more than 2 apg. I’m starting to wonder if it’s not on the player? At some point you have got to want to get better and work on your game. You know, really put in the extra time.

We used to hear all the time that some of the guys were working on their individual game by staying extra time in the practice facility over the summer. And seems we haven’t heard that in a long time now. If they have, I’ve certainly missed it.
