His stubbornness is a huge issue. When things are clearly not working he’s so hesitant to change them up.

Indiana has lost some of the allure we once had as a coaching destination. Since Knight, they have basically struck out with every hire....maybe they need to hire someone that actually knows how to find coaching talent? Other schools find great coaches, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and while...

The blind squirrel quote is one of my favorites lol

Another annual Hoosier activity as we try to stay on the right side of the bubble. We got some "shooters" and now they can't shoot. We worked on free throws and still can't make. Maybe we should look into why this is happening instead of cycling through players. Lots of fantastic coaches being paid for by the university and we still can't figure this out. Shocking.

Wait, we worked on free throws?  Seriously?  I'm sure there are posters on this board that are better free throw shooters.

I mean honestly Trayce and Race are the only starter-level players on the team. The rest are bench guys.

You can complain about our players all you want, but they are what we have this year. It seems, to me, a little unfair to constantly heap criticism on kids without knowing what goes on in the program on and off the court. It's the coaches job to make this work with who we have. If we are not good enough then that will be addressed or we will be looking for a new coach. Until then, I will not disparage the kids who suit up for the team I support.

I'm not sure the administration has wanted to get the hire right.

Need this take explained to me. It’s been said a lot and no one has ever responded in a way that makes any sense or is based in reality. Thanks in advance.

My theory is we my be putting on too much muscle.  I read that being more muscular can alleviate your mobility and hand eye coordination.  I could be wrong but that before and after pick of Race was sick!

And then it could be lack of focus/concentration and mental toughness.  Alford was one of the best free throw shooters in IU history and he always had the same routine in practice and in games when shooting free throws, plus he would always shoot 100 after practice and his goal was 90% and if he didn’t reach that, he would shoot more.  How you practice is how you should shoot them in a game

Saying that Race and Trayce are the only starter-level players on the team isn’t disparaging anyone. It’s just reality, At least on a decent to good team. That’s the state of our team. No one on the roster has even played in an NCAA tournament game. And five of our players were just suspended, so not only are they not taking care of business on the court, they’re screwing up off of it too.

Didn't think we really had a chance at this game so I took my son hiking for the first time instead. It was a good decision.

Where did you hike?  That definitely doesn’t look like Indiana.  It looks out in the Southwest area. My wife and I have hike a lot in that area.  I hope you had fun!

It was about a little over a week ago we were getting better at the right time of the season...

Eh not really. 5 of our 7 BIG wins are against the worst in the conference. Our BIG record was always fools gold. We aren’t playing the Nebraska’s and penn state’s anymore this year.

We are about to let another chance at an NCAA tournament invite.  Wisky is a must win IMO

It's just the people who want coach Knight 2.0. The administration at the time didn't want a coach who was bigger than the university. If you think about it, that's a reasonable position. I was there before and after CBK. I appreciated everything he did for IU basketball, but his time and style was and is past. It's hard to embrace the future while constantly looking at the past.

Stop

1) you're not a coach so you could never know that

2) remember we have 2 wins against teams ahead of us in the standings

3) we can't expect to win against the Nebrasketballs and Penn States of the Big 1.o anymore
