I was in fact around as a freshman for the 1986-87 championship, remember rushing to Showalter fountain  after KS's jumper from a frat house I was watching the game at. If you can't find pleasure in what has been missing from Bloomington since even before BK's departure then i am not sure what to tell you. Absence has made this mind fonder.

Well I stand corrected.

Not saying Kopp and Stewart are unhappy.

Just saying ya can’t be a college student forever. Maybe if they want a grad degree.

Difference between Kopp and Stewart is that Stewart had to sit out a year. He's had an unusual journey. Another difference is that Stewart has been a lot more reliable from deep. I think IU will want to keep Stewart for next year.

Type 1 is extremely difficult to find.

Type 2 is not only easier to find, that player will see the opportunity to develop offensively under Woody.

Thinking about known quantities that are playing for soon to be fired coaches? If Eduardo Andre or Wilhelm Breidenbach leave Nebraska when Hoiberg is dumped I see real potential with either.

How about Julian Reese, who we saw yesterday, a guy who’s coach is ALREADY gone?

It’s never smart to assume NO ONE will transfer but I would be far more confident some of the juniors/seniors will forgo eligibility than that any of the underclassmen are transferring. Everyone seems pretty pleased outwardly, winning helps, injuries have been a pleasant excuse for some bench time that might otherwise have been awkward, and if indeed some upperclassmen depart, there will be minutes for talented, developing underclassmen.

Didn’t get to watch the game yesterday. Saw the highlights this morning. I didn’t know we had another slow 0 and 8 start.
I’ll bet that’s enough to make Coach W to pull his hair out!
Great road win!
G Hsiers!!

It was 0 to 8 but basically was a couple 3s and a bucket and once we got rolling it wasn't long and we were in command. Also tjd and race had a couple good looks bunny's that they missed so not as bad as other slow starts imo

Any news/guesses about Durr.

Second game in a row without playing.

Hope he is not on a 3 game suspension as facing Kofi is one of the reasons for getting Durr.

I would think it’s more of the competition was too fast for Durr more than anything. I would expect to see him against Kofi.

His decades of success in the NBA, I feel, is often understated, with regard as to how this youth looks at it.

This staff is going to have IU where it belongs as early as next season.I could see a 5-7 year run with Woody and then Dane taking over for a few decades.

I’m a fan of Dane both as a player and coach. That being said, there seems to be a pretty strong undercurrent that Dane will be the coach after Woody. I realize, of course, that he played for IU, briefly was a head coach and then a longtime assistant at MSU.  Are we that confident that he will be a good head coach? Do we think recruits/players will respond to him the way they do to Woodys NBA career and presence? Will he be our best choice/option?
I’m just not sure he is a shoo-in to be the next coach but in any case hope we do not have to worry about it for 7-8 years.

Harrar of Penn State was a decent matchup for Durr and then Duncan was given a couple of minutes vs MD while Durr sat again. I think there is something else.

He fits the profile of keeping it in house and hiring  the top assistant *if* a successful head coach retires. Otherwise he’s not the type of candidate to get a job at a place like IU.

We’re getting ahead of ourselves quite a bit talking about Woody’s replacement.

If the program is successful under woody we will want to keep it in house. So if Dane ain’t the guy then we need to find the guy.  But look at Gard and even painter.
