Wow. Dynamic Prep wins 67-52 and never trailed.  MVA looked flat, slow, careless with the ball and shooting with one eye closed.  This year's squad is certainly not nearly as talented as was last year's but tonight was rough.

Unofficially Trent with 8 pts and 5 reb.

Unfortunately, MV probably ended with one of their worst performances of the season overall.  They just couldn’t get anything going.  Great high school career for Trent!  Now, on to preparing for Bloomington!

And Kevin Boyle's departure (I'm assuming it was unexpected) and a new coach just before Chipotle.  Who knows what impact that may have had on tonight's performance.

I agree.  It definitely didn’t help at all. MV lost 2 - 5 star juniors and 1 - 4 star junior, a head coach, 3 assistant coaches (2 were Boyle’s sons) fairly late in the season.  I don’t know any details but just making Chipotle was an accomplishment.

Nah, just national recognition. If your good enough to start at Montverde over the past some years, it propels you.

Yep, he jumped from 99 to 91 simply by committing to Montverde.  lol.  Might tell you all you need to know about out the rankings.  Southwestern Indiana  gets minimal exposure nationally. When it’s all said and done, my bet is on Trent outperforming many of those ahead of him in the rankings.  I’m not saying he will dominate as a freshman at IU, but he will surprise some people and Hoosiers will appreciate his basketball IQ and ability to make winning plays.  He’s a grinder!  Time will tell …

Over rated?

No, not overrated. Strictly a function of visibility. I seem to recall, and I could have this wrong, but I believe last spring/early summer he was right around 100 on 247 maybe even slightly outside of it. But he goes to Montverde and the guys who ordinarily only see most of these kids on a super limited basis during travel season see him play big-time kids and belonging on that floor. Hence suddenly top 60 which is usually a kid you would expect to hit college in a rotation role. He wouldn’t be a lesser prospect if he’d hung at Heritage Hills, but he’d certainly be lower ranked.

From someone who coached him, Montverde was the best thing that happened to him. So much more explosive and quick than he use to be. Kid was always a gym rat and his dad/coaches at heritage hills did a nice job coaching and training him. But nothing like he got at Montverde.

Is he gonna play as  freshman? Of course we don’t know right now, but I would expect him to be a 4 defensively and that would give us the extra big people are pining for.

Bailey, Alexis, and Harris at the 5 and Devries, Sisley, Bailey at the 4 could be a thing.

I’m not sure honestly. He has grown tremendously in the last year from an athletic, quickness, and physical standpoint. He has a very nice skill set for a stretch 4 type of guy, especially one that will not be the vocal point of a scouting report. He will do a lot of the little things and does move without the ball well making reads, back cuts, and what not. I have my worries defensively and I didn’t get to watch many games at Montverde so that’s more from my perspective at heritage hills. Wasn’t that he was a bad defender but he didn’t “HAVE” to play it at heritage hills because he was just better than everyone else. So I figured he would grow a lot in that area once he got to college. So he can certainly grown into,or maybe already has, a plus defender. I’m also not trying to be a homer because it’s hard to stay biased about a kid I’ve taught, coached, and have known personally for awhile now.

Was that a Montverde coach or a former HS coach?
