Class of '66 Old Fart

(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland

Don't tell that to Kansas State.

I 100% expected that one example to be brought up. That's fine I guess that's the new strategy. Wait til spring. But if you have a really crappy season I am guessing it will make getting top spring talent harder.

He never predicted Boogie Fland to anywhere but Kentucky.

That’s the rub….he didn’t ‘officially’ predict until the day before the announcement yet three days prior was indicting that it was IU.  It’s a position of plausible deniability where you push intel but don’t state the certainty of intel.  If Fland had chosen IU, people would be pointing to his Monday tweet.

He explains in detail why he posted those in the article after Fland committed to Kentucky

Oh, I've read the article.  I'm just saying he felt confident enough to post an Indiana gif four days prior to the announcement.  Making 'predictions' one day prior to an announcement when you've heard leaked information isn't really predicting, IMO.

That’s the thing though. He doesn’t make predictions. He cross references word from his contacts. Coaches, agents, etc, etc.

He shares what he knows. That’s why he is so accurate. I don’t know what is so hard to grasp here. Indiana staff was confident because of what they were hearing. That is part of what Trilly was hearing initially.

He didn't post an Indiana GIF.  He posted a Stranger Things gif of the most popular character named 11 to start an 11 day clock.  He then quote tweeted 4 days before the announcement.  The Stranger Things gif had NOTHING to do with Indiana.  It was just referencing the number 11 and nothing else.  It's just a coincidence the show took place in Indiana.

He was confident enough to post a YouTube link that wasn’t a GIF because he almost pulled the trigger and posted a commitment GIF.   Seems to me he was having fun with a crazy fan base but posting an actual commitment GIF he held off doing.    He is a burner account that blew up during the off season and is capitalizing on it.    His GIFs got attention and now he turned that into doing on a website.   He says himself it’s all in good fun and when it’s a 5 star kid he is going to take his time and check and check again with sources

Uhhhh read the link where he said both the stranger things gif AND the Liam/Boogie song play on words were both references to IU

Fair enough.  I'll eat crow on that.  I knew the YT link was, but not the ST Gif.

Speaking of Trilly, he posted today that Duke seems to already have a guy potentially back out before singing day even happens.

According to 247 Duke currently has verbals from the #1, 11, 16, 20 and 56th players and is the overwhelming favorite to land the #5 player (which would give them 5 of the top 20 players in the country !!!).

Three of the commitments (#11, 16, 56) are listed as SF’s and all are 6”5” or 6”6”. I have zero inside info but would take a guess that one of those three SF’s are starting to question and/or worry about how much they will play.

Speculation on Twitter is either SF Kon Knueppel or SF Isaiah Evans, both are Top 15 players

All good

This stuff just changes so often now. Fans need to get on board with that and not stress until the class is done.

Speaking of Trilly, he posted today that Duke seems to already have a guy potentially back out before singing day even happens.

The instant play after transfer, easy de-commit after signing, verbal (never meant much) etc. drastically changed things. Throw in NIL and there is just no need to lower your standard on what you want. There will always be good talent available and could argue locking your class up in the fall is a bad idea.

Let’s see what changes this week brings. Just have this feeling this isn’t done for many, many reasons.

I liked Trilly more as a twitter/x account then as a guy than as a guy now posting predictions on the burnerball website.  The twitter/x thing started out as someone's burner account sharing things that they had heard.   Predictors are a dime a dozen.
