Looks like Jakai got injured. Didn't play much, if at all, the 2nd half and was favoring his left upper leg.

The basketball gods continue to smile down on IU......:farting_smiley:

I guess he must not have been injured, or at least not too bad. He sat by himself, legs extended and was often rubbing his left leg the entire 2nd half last night. But, he played well today, so there ya go.

Newton took a pretty good fall in a game maybe a month or so ago. Hurt his hip. In the games I’ve watched he’s seemed a touch off since then.

NHS 68-53 win over Saint Mary's to advance to a semifinal game at noon tomorrow in the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic.  Jakai with 18 pts., 9 reb, 2 asst, 2 stl.

Newton was definitely not himself physically and didn't play much.

Kalib on the other hand showed off a pretty good handle and a really smooth stroke on his shot. These all star games are torturous to watch but the announcer was pretty entertaining.

Insane. Yeah, that may be their big-school class, but that’s just one class. Some of the best kids in the state aren’t even on there. The amount of talent in Georgia is stone nuts. And, yet, UGA and Ga Tech don’t win.

Strongly recommend you bypass the interview transcript and watch the video of the interview. It does him much more justice as a serious minded outstanding young man.

Am I the only one who listened to that and thought…Tyler the interviewer sounds like the nervous teen and Jakai sounds like a man confident in himself lol.

I think Jakai is going to be a ton of fun to watch, that’s for sure.

A 2-guard who knows that’s what he is…as if I didn’t like his game enough before.

The correct answer is obvious. We take care of our guy.

Our guy has over HALF of all the votes cast. BB, make a trip over there for Jakai.
