Class of '66 Old Fart

(2022) - PF Kaleb Banks to Tulane

Recommended Posts

Not to derail the thread, but are we projecting any of our 'Covid Juniors' e.g. X, Rob, Parker, Miller, Durr, and Race to come back for their Super (Super) Senior Year's?  In some cases this will be their age 24, 25 season so I can understand the desire to move on - but keeping 2-3 immediately plugs some of the roster holes for next season.

I'm suitably impressed.  Halftime score 38-23 and Banks has 22 of the 38.  He scored 19 in the 2nd quarter and didn't miss a shot.  4-4 on 2s; 3-3 on 3s; 2-2 FT.

I think we're going to be pleased with our quality/type of player coming to Bloomington in the future.

Long, interchangeable, tough with a high bball iq.

Not a sunshine pumper, just an optimist. The realist part of me, says this might be our last chance to get it right!

No inside info, but my expectation would be for only Durr to return.

78 - 58 Fayette County defeats Luella.  I have Banks finishing with 32 points, his third consecutive 30+ point game and he sat out the entire 4th Q.  I have him with 12-16 FG; 5-7 on 3s; 3-4 FT; 5 reb; 2 asst; 2 stls; 1 blk.

2 point game half way through the 2nd qtr. Then Banks took the game completely over and just ended it. He has the mentality of a star, which is great to see. Fayette Cty plays Wheeler the week after Christmas and that game will be a great test for him. They have a ton of talent and a ton of size. Doubt the game will be close, but I really want to see him against their size.

Me too—I’m really curious how he does against size and physicality.

I think Race will come back and perhaps X.  Doesn’t Kopp and Stewart have one more year too

I don’t have a clue about their plans but if would be a game changer next year if Race (in particular as we need a presence underneath) and X came back. Having one of Kopp and/or Stewart come back would be very helpful on the perimeter. We will see.

No one on the team will run out of years next season.

Here's the scholarship chart from ITH

The answer has probably already been given. I know they get a free Covid year but, are we allowed 16 Scholly's next year or is it still 13 max?

13 scholarships, plus thee walk ons.

At least I think... lol.

We assume TJD is gone. So at a +2. Not really a big deal as I'm sure we'll have that many defections out, if not more.

13 is still the max.   Teams who had seniors last year that stayed with their team this year were allowed to be over the 13 limit for this year only.   If Al would of stayed at IU there could of been 14 scholarships players for IU this year but since he transferred he counted against Providence scholarship numbers

Banks is on a roll right now.  I’m guessing he gets a little bump in the next rankings

Banks and team participating in the Wheeler Tournament of Champions.  Last night, they were beaten by Wheeler 77-48 and I've seen it reported that Banks had 21 pts. and 10+ reb.  Today they defeated Cumberland Christian 67-58 with Banks scoring 31 pts. and grabbing 15 reb.
