Can't speak for everyone, but the other candidates just don't excite me, at least not enough to discuss any of them. 

So when AM got fired you're only hope was someone that was never likely to come? That's fair man but that sucks for you. I believe if someone is the right fit they will succeed beyond their projection because IU has built in advantages

He wasn't my only hope until our insiders were almost certain it was going to happen. Watching 4 coaches fail here has just burned me out. There's no such thing as a perfect candidate, but Stevens was about as close to perfect as you could get. With Stevens, we wouldn't hear things like "give him a chance" or "let's get on board with him," which I'm sure we'll hear with whoever we end up going with. Giving somebody a chance or giving them X amount of years to win just isn't doing it for me anymore.

I completely agree with this post and the previous post of yours. Just don't see us being an elite program again. We will have pockets of success. But we won't be the consistent program of years past. Be more of the late Knight era through now. It be what it be

I agree, and I hate it. But that's where I am now.

Collectively, our problem is we get caught up in the hype trains and get too emotionally invested because we wanted to believe Billy D. was coming then and we wanted to believe Brad S. was coming now.  Until he lets us down, we have to  keep our faith in Dolson that he will get us the kind of coach we need and the coach that will restore us to a level of national prominence.

Definitely... at the time... but we've got another 24-30 hours under our belts... the sun came up this morning, and it will again tomorrow... we can still get our coach... what didn't happed wasn't meant to be... Dolson gave it his best shot. Now we move on.

I know this. There’s actually plenty of cases when things came out in advance on the message boards. I’m not letting this Stevens thing leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Well, I've learned my lesson... 2017 with Donovan and 2021 with Stevens... I'm staying off the hype train until Dolson speaks... I never cared for roller coasters... but the ones at Knott's Berry Farm and Kings Island have to be more fun that these, right?

Hey peeps,

               Just got on- several rum and cokes in- but MY GOD Gonzaga is fun to watch! I hope we find a coach that can get an IU team to play this fluid. I think the Zags have a good shot to break the perfect streak set by the '76 Hoosiers. Sad, but I would rather it be them then than pUKe, Dook or some other annoying as f*ck team. This tournament has been fun to watch so far. Guess I am just going to continue enjoying good basketball and hope Dolson gets us a winner!

Well there’s nothing new to talk about. If someone came out and said Dolson is meeting with x, y, and z coaches then things would swing that way but until then people still want to talk about the what if’s. Which I’ve been a part of way to much today myself.

Not me. I want the the coaching search to go on for a while longer. That means that the next coach is will probably be young(ish) (not Beilein), healthy (not Matta), and a good enough coach to have made a run in the NCAAT. I'm willing to wait as the longer it goes on, the better then next coach will probably be. 

It's possible he'll continue to strike out for the next month and we end up with an uninspired hire but I'd rather than happens after attempting to make great hires rather than settling now.

I’m disappointed we didn’t get Brad because he was the one coach the fan base agreed upon. Now we’ll continue to see the “I didn’t want Coach ______” every time he fails to meet that person’s expectations.

Am I reading this right? Does Mark Few only make $1 million at Gonzaga? Why wouldn’t we throw $4-5mm per year at a guy like that?
