If it was a smokescreen, it was extremely effective. I've never seen such a 180 over a statement with zero substance. "Love the people I get to work with"? Sounds more of a let them down easy statement. Why not say, "as I've stated in years past, I have no interest in the Indiana job"? It's seems pretty easy to deny something clearly when you don't want it....

IU would certainly not want a smokescreen that were hiring the white whale.  Whoever they really would hire after that would be a letdown

What's crazy about these bogus rumors is the whiplash from how quickly they get disproven. In 2021, the word on the street was Stevens was all but done, and then he issues a statement denying any interest. Last year Woodson's firing was imminent, up until the minute the athletic department released its statement saying he's coming back. And now today, we've got our man, only for Stevens to say he's not a candidate mere hours later.

Cronin is a real solid coach who would win a lot of games here. He just has an abrasive personality that turns a lot of fans off.

Board ‘insiders’ feed us juicy, fried rumor after juicy, fried rumor. We beg em for more. Then once we’re 400 pounds and waiting for the final double-fried Oreo of confirmation…a media member quickly disproves the whole thing and laughs at us. “Not a candidate” is just wild stuff

I agree.  Since Stevens is out of the way, 1) May and 2) Beard.

I honestly think it will be May, I said that about 2 weeks ago before this BS smoke got me side tracked

He is high on the Peegs hot board so there is some smoke there for him to jump onto the top when he wasn’t even on the first 2 posted.  Once he was high on the hot board I started posting about him more.   I’ve always liked him.  His offense is fun to watch

Just show up open house day so public is welcome. There is betting table and 6 cars per race. It's a pretty good time also do horse races the same way.
