Who really is the homeowner hire. Only with a time machine can we really know. We could hire the best prospect and they could fail. I am just at the point where I want to win and could give a rats a$$ about anything other than winning. Watching the game now and seeing this ugly basketball is killing my faith to get a winner.

If I'm ever that way, I'll partake

I am not optimistic but will support whoever it is. We better not get worse

I truly don’t see a way we could get worse. Even with options like Cronin towards the bottom, that’s WAY better than Woodson. Trust me, I want a dynamite hire, but we have plenty of really good options that are realistic.

There was also all the weirdness with Woodson’s “retirement” just last week. We fired him mid season, but then let him finish out the season as a bitter, disgruntled lame duck who’s ignoring all his off the court media responsibilities. So, all these outside influences are still clearly lurking. It will take a certain personality to navigate them and make iubb great, and I just don’t see that in Dolson. Hopefully he shocks me.

He was already ignoring his off the court media responsibilities as well as his recruiting responsibilities. Not much has changed except that even he now knows he won't be the coach at IU next year.

What's crazy about these rumors is the whiplash from how quickly they get disproven. In 2021, the word on the street was Stevens was all but done, and then he issues a statement denying any interest. Last year Woodson's firing was imminent, up until the minute the athletic department released its statement saying he's coming back. And now today, we've got our man, only for Stevens to say he's not a candidate mere hours later.

I think we have to consider that whoever is feeding info to posters here may in fact be the smoke screen...

53 pages to catch up on before tip off. Daunting, were I ever daunted, of which I never am.

Well then. What a ride that was. It appears we are faltering. Yet, was that the only quote from BS? B/c that quote said absolutely nothing at all.

This is why I refused to get too involved and excited about Stevens. Was hopeful, but it was a long shot to begin with. Maybe we are lucky and it’s just a smokescreen, but IU has several options on the table that could be home runs.

IU basketball will go on, and I still truly trust Dolson to get this hire right. I think he deserves that after the Cignetti hire. May, Beard, Pearl, etc are all good options that we can possibly get. Keep the faith and carry on!
If it was a smokescreen, it was extremely effective. I've never seen such a 180 over a statement with zero substance. "Love the people I get to work with"? Sounds more of a let them down easy statement. Why not say, "as I've stated in years past, I have no interest in the Indiana job"? It's seems pretty easy to deny something clearly when you don't want it....

Johnson IU and Pappy big gambling day tomorrow at the club. Pop a top 500. A dice gambling car race thing. Pretty decent money for last race. Starts at 3:45.
Let me know how to sign in and I may show! Like 2ish miles from the house! I live in Woodridge.
