instead of viewing this as a do or die hire, you might have to go out on a little bit of a limb and, what do we really have to to lose at this point in trying out somebody like Kevin Young at BYU or the other obvious ones like McCollum, etc.?

I've had this in the back of my mind the entire time. We all want an established head coach with a winning track record. So did Louisville and Kentucky. I think it's important to keep an open mind.

JFC. There are multiple incidents with Beard. MULTIPLE! He beats a woman multiple times, his fiancée, and is a constant drinker around campus. Not happening. Nope. No matter how some of you keep trying to wish it into existence. Not. Happening. I’m not joking.

Multiple incidents I have heard.  Multiple domestic violence incidents I have not.  Is there published evidence of that?   Not saying he’d be a good hire (don’t need the baggage) but let’s at least be fair about what he’s accused of.

I don’t really know that much about him. I was just wondering if there are any pics that ever surfaced.
some of the media guys seem to poo poo it to some degree,  but if he actually did choke and bite her, I would not before the hire.

All good! No images of her are public. Bite marks, abrasions, and stated he choked her from behind. From behind means she was running from him. And that’s just the public incident.
Charges dropped because she didn’t want him to lose his job or go to jail. He was going to get up to 10 years in Texas.

After last nights loss

Mick Cronin: "All we're worried about is our shooting, ... Our crowd's mind is on the wrong stuff. They make it worse. The stress in Pauley is crazy. How about help the guy, cheer for the guy? He's not trying to miss the free throw. Everyone's mind is on the wrong stuff."

Sounds like he’d handle our fan base really well…

Yea…that quote makes me think he’d wilt under the pressure here about ten games in.

That’s the thing about the IU job. It can take you to there very top of the sport like few places can. But it is also a hard job. You don’t automatically step in and become better because of the resources here. You have to be able to leverage them and balance all the demands that come with them. Having a set of rabbit ears is probably one of the worst qualities to have for this job.

Texas domestic violence has 2-10 year sentence.

And **** yes I am. Have daughters. Do you?

Also, I’ve said my peace. Won’t sabotage the thread any longer.

I just wonder if there could be a scenario where Dolson already had Dusty May lined up for the job last year but then Buckner insisted Woodson get a 4th year. Woodson gets a bunch of money to try to make it a good year and turn it around, doesn’t happen, so Dolson gets to pull the plug. Dolson tells Dusty to pretty much hang tight, he takes the Michigan job and makes the buyout low so he can easily leave, then once Woodson is actually done, Dusty gets to move in. If it’s been said that Dolson “has his guy” then that could mean it was Dusty knowing he’s getting the job the whole time.

obviously just brainstorming, and IF it does indeed end up being Dusty, would make me wonder if that’s how it happened.

Cronin would be such a bad cultural fit. Also do we really want a coach that has had a happy fanbase upon their departure?

Agree. He wins to much for the culture at IU.
