I love this movie. I've seen it so many times.

You want to talk about a coach who took a bunch of college players who had never played together and beat the best hockey team in the world. I always thought that was for the gold until my dad told me it wasn't but wow if that had been for the gold medal.

If that were true there never would have been a Goodman statement on Feb 14th with a long way to go in the season

That's assuming that Goodman's statement was somehow orchestrated to calm the Stevens talk. Maybe he just asked Stevens because of all the BTB and other Stevens to IU chatter.

We need something to happen today to get us another bunch of pages to keep our goal of 2000 going. So we need someone to name someone crazy or say something that gets people. I feel like we are still 2-3 weeks before were even close to getting some real intel.

Chris Mullin.. didn’t do good as coach but at least had a nice flat top.

Al Michales saying Do you believe in miracles is maybe the greatest line in all of sports broadcasting. I remember it well being 4 years old (Not really). But I also believe in miracles and believe were going to get this hire right.

Haha, I did love watching me some Chris Mullin growing up. I had that haircut in elementary and JR high. Now I would kill to have that much to have a flat top :-)

Great flick.

Don't want to get too far off topic, but several years ago, HBO did a doc on the 1980 team that is absolutely fantastic.

Thank you. Needed something to pass the time today.

The way the brackets played out, It was essentially for the gold medal.  Was simply spectacular.

Wiemuth isn't just a guy sitting in the basement of his parent's house if you're not familiar with him.

All this really boils down to is that coaches who succeed at the highest level also were very successful at lower levels, which is kind of a no-brainier.

We can find a bunch of examples of guys who were really good at lower levels—even meeting this criteria—and failed in the big leagues.

It might be a decent filter for guys like Archie though, who was in 2nd place for single season wins at Dayton when we hired him. He’s now in 3rd as Anthony Grant holds the record, who himself washed out at Alabama.

As I said once before, I get my hopes up reading everything and listening to all the possibilities which is fun and then we get blindsided with a coach out of nowhere like Woodson.  I am getting too old for this and would love to see them relevant again before I can no longer watch and enjoy the game.

I hear that... I'm not as old as you ('68?) or the Old Fart ('66) ... graduated in 76 ... but yeah, the clock is ticking on me, too.
