He's made for Louisville. There has to be an angle Mack is working. His wife is from Louisville, her parents I believe are big donors. However if they are going to come down on anyone I would say it would be the school that was already on probation, and committed more penalties. Chris007 and lillurk 2

Can't say I know everything about Baylor but their offense looks very NBA'ish. Yeah he gets to March Madness but he hasn't had much luck there. One more elite eight than Archie. We want another CTC with Sweet 16's and second round appearances? I don't see much potential in a Scott hire. I think he's peaked. Of course we can all say "it's better than Archie" Okay sure but we're making a full on circle with CTC level success. We need a coach with at least an ounce of potential. What's the problem with an "NBA'ish" offense? Better than a high school offense yea? lillurk and JaybobHoosier 2

Gazing into my crystal ball I see a coach in the republic making a lot of calls behind the scenes to Indiana. Will he be successful in his quest to be our next coach? Doh! Outlook is still cloudy. I *think* I might know who you are... Could you possibly be Dave "The King" Wilson's psychic, the esteemed Madame Balzich?
Trish Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Wild idea. I know it appears money isn't an issue with the buy-out, but what if we extended Archie and then fired him? His pay-period would be longer, but the dollar amount would be smaller each year. Saving us money this summer or next summer. I need to go back to sleep.. JaybobHoosier 1
NOLA Hoosier Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 An honest question: Why would putting up with a lame duck coach for another year make any more sense than firing him now (and firing up the program again with a new hire)? I have hardly watched at all this year and there’s little to no chance I watch any games next year. And with AH open, how does he think there won’t be boos and jeers every night from the few fans left? Not to mention the loss in merchandising. However, us bitching aside, I know there is roughly half of the fanbase who will watch regardless of how they play, and a lot of that contingent are big sunshine pumpers, even in circumstances like these. Would Dolson count on their support and forgo what the “serious” fans want?

No one is squeaky clean (although it would look terrible for an incoming coach).

That would also basically be admitting to the NCAA that your program broke rules and there could be consequences that come with that.

It would be dumb to do that, then we hire Stevens. But as a booster told me, he will buy his tickets and just give them away each game till there is a new coach. But there will be boos and fewer people there. OldBuddy67, Class of '66 Old Fart, NOLA Hoosier and 3 others 6

I was 90% certain they were going to let him go after this season, now I’m at about 50/50. If they want to call themselves a blue blood, they should act like it and do the right thing. I’m just not sure they will.

In no way can this university justify bringing a coach back that lost the last 6 games of the season. If money is an issue, then Freddie wasn't as good of an AD as many of you thought he was. He gave Archie this contract. This was an epic collapse like no other. To make matters worse, the whole tournament is being played in Indiana...rds 1 and 2 at Assembly Hall!!! He's never beaten Purdue, has a losing record against the conferences best, has missed the NCAA Tournament in the three years they've had it (Indiana would've been a 10/11 seed last year...yipee....). Indiana basketball will be almost dead to me if he comes back. This tells me the university doesn't care about winning. I'm pretty sure I watched more games that the 6-25 team played than this team. I think I read where IU-Michigan State was the lowest viewed IU game in a long time. Hoosierfan2017, sweetpain, Chris007 and 1 other 4

I just started posting on here recently just to see the chatter about what is going on with the program. I like talking to all of you. That being said, I just can't invest time in a program that is okay with being a bottom 4 team in the Big Ten. We are literally Nebraska right now. IUc2016 1

Romeo looked like he had other places to be during that game. cappymo14 1
