Also to the recruiting stuff....did Brad Stevens ever land a burger boy or a 5 star recruit? I know he sent one player to the league but was there any others? I'm not remembering any.

Not that I know of, but he got the whole to play greater than the sum of it's parts!

I wonder how many he actually seriously recruited at Butler. Cody Zeller might be it.

Shelvin Mack and Gordon Hayward both played for Stevens and went to the NBA

I believe the only other besides Hayward was Shelvin Mack.

I think he landed a couple of ESPN 100 players after his first Final 4 run

Zeller at minimum. I think his name alone would do a lot of recruiting by itself lol

Thought Zeller went to IU lol. I understand your point that he recruited him and got to his final 3.

I know everyone has been waiting with baited breath for my take on this.

If it is indeed McCollum, I would love it. Finally, a competent coach. By all accounts he is a master tactician on the court who is revered by his colleagues.

Surround him with a couple seasoned assistants and let's roll.

Shut the thread down he has spoken

There is no basis that he can recruit at this level? Name me one McDonald’s All American he’s recruited? One NBA player?

With all due respect, How many NBA or McDonald boys are interested in going D2? And what was the timing of his Drake hire.? Did he have the time needed to build relationship to bring such players? He apparently recruited well enough from the pool of his available D2  players. How do we know he can’t recruit from a pool of D1 players.

The cig love is over the top based on one season. This year's schedule is much harder. This year is his true test. They will say he isn't tom allen but the Allen love was the same after the covid year.

It's not "much" harder. Not sure if you're paying any attention to the roster upgrades but, believe it or not, they're a lot better team on paper compared to last year's team on paper in the month of March. Like a lot a lot better. 4 games will be up for grabs. All other games IUFB will be the favorite. They'll win games and us IUFB faithful will experience a winning product on the gridiron.

And I'd be surprised if they aren't in the 9+ win category.  The Illinois game will be a big game. Iowa, Penn St., and Oregon are all road games and if they win two of these 4 games (I think they can win them all) we'll be in conference contention with potential for playoffs again.

I might not always agree with "him", but he brings valid opinions and perspectives.
I doubt goodman knows anything honestly but is guessing . He claimed basically with Hummel mccollum are ole-what’s-eez-name are the very best we can do. And of course Hummel just laughed.
