If X doesn’t get hurt Galloway isn’t a starter at all this past season and this isn’t even a discussion. We’d still be talking about how great of a spark he would be off the bench and his versatility would allow for a lot of lineup flexibility. Can Knecht create for others, consistently? There are so many "what-ifs" or similar situations. If X plays all year, is JHS consistently creating for others or is his mentality different? How many high level games did we see with both X and JHS playing together at full health to be able to determine that? I don't think JHS is a high first rounder this year in the draft if X plays healthy all season. Quote

He is the most versatile player, as far as position, on the team. So I think he is the first one in unless matchups with bigs dictates otherwise in the instance a big gets 2 quick fouls. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk 100%. No way is Gallo a 7 or 8 guy. I'm also in the camp that thinks that for IU to contend at the top, we need to improve our scoring and guard play and Gallo, as much as I like him (one of my favorites), is better suited to a 6th man role -- an excellent 6th man. Somewhat like a Sheehey. His outside shooting, though, improved significantly, his D and energy are usually top flight (though his aggressiveness still leads to quick fouls at time) -- first off the bench imo. Because he, just like 2 years ago, would have very little help creating for others. Sorry but I almost hate that lineup. Knecht, Ledlum despite having huge usage #s... don't exactly get others involved much. I thought we just watched a whole NCAAT where multiple ball handlers/multiple creators off the bounce were essential. Whether TG starts or not... I'd be shocked if he doesn't avg 25mpg+... especially with the way the roster is trending. BGleas 1 Quote

I tend to look at important times, who is on the court. And I think we have evidence to show that Coach Woodson goes with guys who have been producing and who he trusts over his first two seasons at IU. TG could play starters minutes but off the bench. WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 I can't believe i'm saying this after the 2 year ago Gallo, but Next year I want to see Gallo shooting MORE 3's. We desperately need our offensive rebounding percentage to improve however and shooting more 3's would help that. If we get Knecht he should shoot a lot and Gallo needs to figure out if he can stay hot. ALASKA HOOSIER, thebigweave, NVFalcons1990 and 3 others 6 Quote

That is something I like about Woodson is that he'll roll with what is working. He does though drive me nuts at times with not changing starting lineups, especially in 2nd half.Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk ALASKA HOOSIER and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote

His release takes too long to be anything other than an open catch and shoot guy. rcbowla Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Does any team/coach do that? I don't pay enough attention tbh. Does that make it right? To not put your team in the best position to win is malpractice as a coach. We have clearly seen times where that would've benefited the team.Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

jbeaman9 Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Rabby checking to see if Knecht will be taking any more visits. If not, that obviously does not bode well for us landing him. Quote

Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Yes, it does make it the right choice in my eyes, CMW and other coaches know their team sooooooo much better than we do. Maybe you could say... "I think it would be interesting if we did that" but labeling it "malpractice" or something that "drives you nuts" is just strange to me simply because it's not something that happens, anywhere. Not every single coach can be wrong about that. thebigweave and BGleas 2 Quote

Not every single coach can be wrong about that. I guess if I were the coach and I had a lineup that had just cut a 10 pt deficit to 1 over last 8 minutes (for example). I'm coming out with that same lineup rather than the one that dug the original hole. I guess that's stupid because others don't do that Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Quote
