Even with those shooting numbers?  Sight unseen, I can't see wanting a guy whose literal average shooting performance last year was 5 of 14 from the field with 2 for 7 from three.  Freshman year was a little better, but through two years he's shooting 36/33.  Shoots a lot of threes, but still only works out to 44% effective shooting.

Yep even with those numbers.  Kid competes and plays his butt off and hits big shots. I personally don’t need to see the shooting numbers to know I want him on my team but understand others will.   I would take him in a heartbeat

Omaha Billew, 6'8" freshman from Iowa State, freshman.  Was a five star freshman and McDonald's All-American (13th ranked player overall) in the 2023 class.  Barely saw the court, though.  Played in 20 games, averaging 7.4 minutes, 2.4 points, and 1.3 rebounds.  There was a rumor that he was fighting through a back injury all year.  Out of high school was known best as a defender and straight line driver, but did not look the part this year.

Riley Kugel, 6'5" guard from Florida, committed to Kansas.  Might mean that Kansas isn't as attractive for Hickman.

Omaha Biliew 5 star PF and 13th ranked recruit in 2023 has entered the portal.

Don't know what's going on with Iowa State, but they have 4 guys that have entered the portal since being eliminated.

These guys getting recruited over, or is there an issue with the coach?

I watch a fair amount of OU and Uzan was a more confident shooter as a freshman. He never got into any kind of comfortable groove this year, to the point where he was turning down looks at times. But he's a good defender, he's a tough kid, and he takes care of the ball. He's got a chance to help somebody.

Stone cold guess: it’s probably a combination of TJ being a hard nosed coach (his teams embody that style anyways) and a really crappy NIL.

Mercer transfer guard Jake Davis has committed to Illinois. The 6-6 freshman shot 39% from three this season, connecting on 60 shots from deep.  High school teammate of Xavier Booker.  Davis gave it 100% whenever he was on the court.  Good bench piece for Underwood.

Beat me to the post. I posted his intention to transfer a few weeks ago and thought he'd be an intriguing piece for somebody. I think he plays a lot like Luke Goode, have to wonder if he's going to put his name in the portal? The amount of times Kevin Harlan mentioned Luke Goode and his uncle Trent Green (who Harlan calls football games with) from Indiana makes you wonder if he knows something....

Notre Dame center Carey Booth has entered the transfer portal, he told On3.

Booth, a 6-foot-10 freshman, averaged 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season for the Fighting Irish.

The Colorado native is a former four-star recruit and was the No. 59 overall player in the nation from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ohio State freshman wing Scotty Middleton into the portal.  Was in Ohio State's rotation this year, averaging 15 minutes, 4.4 points, and 1.4 rebounds per game.  6'7".  Was ranked 60th in the class of 2023.  Shot well from three last year (but not inside the arc) -- 40% overall, 45% from three, making 28 of 62 threes.

Huntley-Hatfield has cut his list to four teams:  NC State, Pittsburgh, U Conn, and a return to Louisville.

I guess I don't get the U Conn thing.  Doesn't seem like a fit there.  They seem to want a mobile lineup.

If that was the recruiting strategy we'd have a 45 man roster. 

 

I'm surprised he's leaving with Tominga gone next year.
