Ewww.

If Altman couldn't get him to play hard I question who will be able to do so. Maybe he needs to walk in the footsteps of his twin Xavier Booker and get coached up by Angry Mick Cronin; He's done more with Booker than I thought possible.

Considering it'll be a multi-million dollar contract, I'm hoping IU isn't the school that gives it a shot.

I wouldn’t go there, either. Even at Montverde when he was a MCDAA didn’t like him much. Was one of those “looks like Tarzan plays like Jane” kids who got deceptively little done while looking really good. But, he’s a pretty good system fit and if they want to take a swing, and it would be a big one, ok, I guess. But you better be prepared to put a big, physical kid next to him.

The way, way, way too early top portal entries so far (as rated by 247):

1.  Stefan Vaaks, Providence, 95.0

2.  Drew Scharnowski, Belmont, 94.0

3.  Tyler Lundblade, Belmont, 94.0

4.  Kwame Evans, Oregon, 93.0

5.  DeSean Goode, Robert Morris, 92.0

From that group I like Stefan Vaaks and Desean Goode. I am just not seeing any point guards that move the needle yet

The Iowa State-Kentucky game perfectly illustrates the importance of having a stud/dawg point guard. With Tamin Lipsey running the show the Cyclones were a well oiled machine. Kentucky on the other hand had Aberdeen playing out of position trying to run things and could not make it work.

We need a quality point guard to make everyone else better. Someone who can defend, distribute and score. It is early and so hopefully that guy enters the portal at some point but I don't see anyone now Not sold on Colby Garland or Jalen Haralsen. Maybe we go the international route but I have no clue who is available there.

Center is obviously another position of need and it appears there may be several options there if rumors are true. Guys like Flory Bidunga, Owen Freeman, Mustapha Thiam. Massamba Diop and the internationals Luigi Suigo and Sayon Keita.

Throw a bag at one of those guys and we are set at  a position of real need. Time will tell.

If more coaching changes occur like Jaylen Carey and Amari Evans from Tennessee and Adlan Elamin from Utah State.

Anyone know what happened with the decommit from Wake Forrest, Quinten Coleman is he still in play?

For me it is a hard pass on Kwame Evans and Miika Murriinen.

Finally I am still really intriqued by Daquan Davis who has entered the portal from Providence That kid is a dawg and a leader and would be a long shot to fill the point guard role. Kenny has to know him and he might come cheap.

Check out this dude. Never heard of him. Pretty light feet for a giant mid-major kid. Also shot 34% from 3 on a look a game. Whatcha bet he ends up somewhere surprisingly good?

Bonus: He looks like Boban!

Wow, he does. Tell ya what, a 7’2” kid with a big frame, pretty good feet and a jump hook over each shoulder? I could probably talk myself into that pretty fast.

Whoa he moves way better than you’d expect from a guy his size. You need three bigs in the big 10 as shown by this year and this guy being one of them would be really interesting. Only a sophomore also so hopefully some room for growth

Kansas has been stale. We just won the football national championship with the Heisman winner and presumptive #1 draft pick.

If there’s ever a time Adidas could get off their lazy butts and send us some high profile recruits, it would be now. I’m not sure whose job that is but somebody needs to pick up the phone.

100% Yes.  This is one of my pet peeves.

We signed our current Adidas pre-football getting good.  Now everything has changed.  I really want to see an announcement of a new deal given the exposure IU now provides.  More money and more priority in FB and MBB.

I see some other schools getting flashy Adidas deals and that should be us gosh darn it.  We are the champs of CFB dag nabbit.

He has to be the #1 option. Ryan Carr and CDD please offer him

Assuming he portals that kid’s list will be a sight to see.
