what a great guy. He always had a kind word for me. Gave me a great baked wings recipe when we used to all post during the IU Football games. He grew up in Dover a couple of hours from me here in Ohio.

Sadly it feels like all the good guys are slipping away, one at a time.  74 is far too young to go. I'm 73.  I feel like I have lost a member of the extended family.  Wish we had met face to face to discuss the Hoosiers.  RIP

It hits home. At 72, I know that I can't do all the things I used to do or even some the things I think I still can. I have never met anyone I interact with here, but over time I feel like I know others from the things they say. Agree with them or not, they are still a part of the experience and I don't want to lose that. I visit HSN regularly and post there when something strikes my fancy. This site is for all practical purposes my home. I always paid attention whenever I saw Mile had posted something. As I said, I don't really know anyone on these boards, and yet, with each passing I feel as if I have lost something that matters to me.

Terrible. I had a family friend and huge IU fan pass away under the exact same circumstances 2 years ago.
