What Can IUBB do to Revive Your Excitement/Confidence?

I've been a huge IU basketball fan my whole life but forgot we were playing today.  When i realized we did, looked up the score and wasn't surprised. Just thought,  "well, I suppose I saved 2.5 hours of frustration."  Ashamed to admit apathy has taken over.   My college self (09 graduate)  heck,  my self from Creans era, would be ashamed of my apathy.

Will probably watch a game here or there,  but I don't expect to see another NCAA tournament bid while Miller is here. Moreover,  I don't expect to watch enjoyable basketball while Archie is still our coach.   Disappointing.

The lack of fans really highlights the haves from the have nots. Indiana basketball is not in the same realm as the other “blue bloods” at this point. This hasn’t been a premiere program for two decades, and with no fans, no William Tell, no nothing other than the players on the court, we’re no different than Oklahoma State or Miami.

At this point, I'd rather have Alford.

Chicken, you're better than this. We don't want Alford. You want a guy who couldn't win at UCLA to win at Indiana now?

I'd rather throw Dane Fife's name into the hat than hire Alford. Might as well bring Kelvin Sampson back if you're considering Alford.

He won more at UCLA than Archie has here by a 100 miles. I don't want Fife. For all the bad that can be said about Alford's past, the same can be said with Fife in his time at MSU and the things may have known about. And I wouldn't care to bring back Sampson. He's not going to get in trouble anymore.

Well somebody wake his butt up!  I always appreciated his input.  One of the best posters we've had

And where is Chris007? Haven't heard any good stuff from him lately. He's the one who let us know that Smith and Durham were causing some problems last year and not Green and Davis.

I'm not sure he gets the info he used to.  Lately it seems he's been guessing/getting some bad info.

Hoosierpap tho...come on back brother

So just a reminder the only time Archie was middle of the pack big ten was with a roster that was 100% Crean recruits

I predicted a 6-14 bigten record and will now be shocked if we even win 6. We are no better than we were when Crean was fired.

does anyone really think we are headed to the tournament?

There’s more talent now.  No sub 300 recruits.  A competent coach that could teach a coherent offensive set could have these guys playing pretty good basketball

Sadly it is looking like it'll be a 5-7 win season in conference. Archie really shouldn't last after this season. He will 100% lose the fan base.

He’s like many of us that enjoy IUBB and don’t want to come to here as much when the board rehashes the same negativity.

Thats not to say it’s all unfounded; it’s just not enjoyable.

Not much of a product to enjoy anymore. I guess we can all pretend it's 2012 all over again. Or before then even. We can just start at Zellers commitment.

I was not talking about enjoying the product.

I was talking about enjoying the interaction on the board.

What happened to hoosierpap?  He was a legit insider.  When Crean was canned he said IU had interest in Chris Collins.

Yeah he had a family member who indicated Collins was thought to be th top candidate.  Not sure if we had different camps promoting different guys and his contact was in the Collins camp or if Miller passed Collins up during the process

He already has. There is no excitement, not in recruiting, not on the bench, not on the court, not in the fanbase.

Crean in year 4 went 27-9 and a sweet 16 and knocked off a slew of ranked teams and the future looked bright. Compare that to what we have now and it’s just sad

meanwhile Brad underwood has brought back excitement to Illinois in his 4th year and we’re drowning
