LamarCheeks Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Kinda funny. During the PU game, CTM got a little miffed after a turnover and punched the scorer's table -- broke a finger. Joe_hoopsier, Stuhoo, LIHoosier and 3 others 3 3 Quote

Hey, it's 2023 It is crazy for sure. But Women’s tickets are like $1 and men’s are about 100 times that. Makes things tough. But still, crazy with ESPN games and such. TV money is legit. But still, crazy with ESPN games and such. TV money is legit. You are so way on the prices. Women's tickets are $10 generally (the $1 is a special promo once or twice a year) while the men are $56. Yes someone may pay well over $100 on the secondary market but IU does not see a penny of that. The bottom line is IU (in normal circumstances) makes $10 on a women's ticket and $56 on a men's ticket so about 5.5 times difference. Still substantial bit not close to the 100 times you said either. Quote
TTT Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 TV revenue has a communistically discriminatory history towards the college women basketball game. It is very promotional on the boys and mens side (arguably high school and college womens basketball relevancy is less than 50 years old) vs girls and women side of things. TV promotion and revenue comes in all kinds of JUNK for other tv programs as well. When efforts are made on women college basketball side it is growing and will continue to grow. Currently, in women college basketball to me it has an atmosphere of interest that has been and is being created parallel to what Larry Bird and Magic Johnson created in the NBA at the time. NOT MONEY BUT INTEREST…that is being done without the equivalent level of tv and marketing promotion. Quote

Whalen was a senior. Absolutely fantastic player. Not so much as a coach, it would seem. J34 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 2, 2023 Author Posted March 2, 2023 With girls high school seasons mostly in their final days, I thought I'd summarize how our known commits/offers have done. I've no doubt we have more offers outstanding than I'm aware of but women's recruiting just doesn't get the same degree of attention and publicity as does the mens. '23 Commit Lenee Beaumont - Benet Academy (IL): Class 4A semifinals on Friday; state championship on Saturday. '23 Commit Jules LaMendola - Coppell HS (TX): Class 6A semifinals on Friday vs. Arianna Roberson and San Antonio Clark; state championship on Saturday. '24 Commit Faith Wiseman - Indian Creek HS (IN): Lost in 3A semistate '24 Offer Amiah Hargrove - Christopher HS (IL): Plays in 1A state championship game on Saturday '24 Offer Arianna Roberson - San Antonio Clark HS (TX): Class 6A semifinals on Friday vs. Jules LaMendola and Coppell HS; state championship on Saturday. '24 Offer Chloe Spreen - Bedford North Lawrence HS (IN): Won 4A state championship. '25 Offer Maya Makalusky - Hamilton Southeastern HS (IN): Lost in sectional championship game. '26 Offer Addison Bjorn - Park Hill South HS (MO): District tournaments still underway. State tournament does not end until March 18. '26 Offer - Jenica Raine Lewis - Johnston HS (IA): Plays for 5A state championship on Saturday. mamasa, Stuhoo, WayneFleekHoosier and 2 others 3 2 Quote
tomallenfan1 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 #3 Utah lost last night. I am 75% confident IU should be safe for a 1 seed regardless of the outcome today, but I will be 95% confident with a win to avoid a bad loss and 99% if they make the title game. thebigweave 1 Quote

To go back to this, I am confident IU will be a 1 seed next Sunday. They are obviously not playing like a 1 seed now, but they have the resume for it. J34 and Todd41 2 Quote
Banksyrules Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Question about knee injuries. If you get one can’t it get worse thus shouldn’t play at all? Quote
