Probably won’t happen but smart of him to try For AFTER their conference tournament? While it would be smart, IMO it shouldn't be something that the conference allows. Quote

TheWatShot Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Notre Dame moved up 9 spots in the NET after winning by 34 yesterday and is now a Quad 1 win. HoosierHoops1, southsidehoosier, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 2 others 5 Quote
Crazy about IU Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I hate to say it but I feel like our big dance starts tonight. We must also win the Rutgers game also. The Barn has always been hard to win at then you add in senior night. Quote
NashvilleHoosier Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 The same day we gain a quad 1 win we likely lose a quad 2 win as St. John’s just refuses to turn the corner this season. Yet we can gain a quad 2 win right back as we speak. So much resume movement in one day. Quote

I think Xavier tried to do it after a conference tourney a couple years ago and ncaa wouldn’t allow it after the conference tourneys Quote
Uspshoosier Posted February 28, 2022 Author Posted February 28, 2022 Road win mean IU has 4 wins away from home which is a big deal however IU missed the chance to drive up their efficiency with a 20+ beat down on the road. Probably cost them some spots in the NET that they would of jumped. I guess they will move up a little but not much IUc2016 and RaceToTheTop 2 Quote

I guess they will move up a little but not much I know Pom had us as a two point favorite, so overall it was pretty much a push in terms of efficiency. What is funny is that in between the Maryland game, we were at 46 -- then 47 -- then 49 -- then jumped up to 42 entering today. He just put in today's game and we are currently still at 42. There is a pretty big gap between 39 and 40 so I think at best if we had a 20+ point win today we would have been at 40. FWIW, Pom currently has us with a 70% chance to beat Rutgers. Maryland moved up from 90 to 82 after their win against Ohio State. Nebraska jumped huge.....from 184 to 155 on Pom. Quote

Remains a quad 2 for now. Maryland only up to 90. No changes. Nebraska big move from 188 to 164. Still a quad 4 but now within reach of getting to quad 3. southsidehoosier 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Food for thought: if Rutgers is considered a tournament worthy team, why are they a quad 3 game on Wednesday and why does Northwestern have a better net? Quote

Because the NET isn’t the end all be all for making the tourney. It’s a sorting tool. Sparty, Cuse, and St. John’s have made it and had a net in the 70s. Nc state, Clemson and a bunch of others had net in the 30s and got left out. Why people continue to view the overall net number as the end all be all for making the tourney is beyond me. Committee say it every year that other factors go into making the tourney besides net but people choose to view as such even when the people actually picking the teams say otherwise Quote
