Bracketology and Team Resumes

A couple weeks ago someone asked if going 2-2 in the last 4 would have been enough and I said it would all depend on that others around the bubble did but that could have been enough.   Well looking at what others have done all IU had to do was beat Northwestern and Minny at home and they are probably in with room to spare.

I’m still holding out hope we win the first game and get Central time zone UCLA.  That could be our best bet

Has to be Northwestern so they add a Q2 win and then Purdue would be the best option for the 7th seed to get another opportunity for a high Q1a win. UCLA or Ohio st would be the other options depending on how the rest shakes out

I guess for two minimum to get in, you would want it to be NW and Purdue. But beating Purdue? I just don’t see it :/

Getting 3 in BTT would mean beating a rested #2 seed on Friday, while we are playing our third game in three days. Unfortunately I think we're cooked.

IU losers of 5 out if their last 6 is probably still going to be projected in the last 4 in for some bracketologist because everyone around them is losing.    
 

Wade has lost 6 of his last 7 games 

Iowa is in danger of losing 6 out of their last 8 with a loss at Nebraska tomorrow 

SMU has lost 4 straight 

Auburn is about to lose 8 out of its last 10 games 

Please no tournament expansion.

Do you think Purdue lost on purpose to get the 7th seed just so their Seniors get a chance at playing IU again so they finish 5-4 against them?  Joking of course but crazy how the bracket falls.

I knew when I saw comments from our fans boasting about how they only went .500 against us that we'd end up playing them in March for the first time since 1998. Just how literally everything works out for us. 

 

Assuming, of course, we can finally beat 15th-place Northwestern.

And I know you were joking, but I think they just really suck at guarding the 3 point line. Wisconsin went 18 of 34 from deep. We shot really well in the United Center last time we were there so here's hoping.

According to WABwatch.com (legit?) we’re 46, so one spot worse than the theoretical bubble. 
 

We are 41 on Kenpom, right behind Shertz’s 40th ranked St Louis squad. 
 

Torvik who has irrationally loved all season us has us at 29th.  
 

If we make a little 3 game run in the BTT and make the play-in game, we are squarely in the Mike Woodson zone.

IU is 47th WAB on the team sheet 

IU finished the regular season 3-11 on the road.   7 of the 11 were to top 34 teams with 4 of the them to the top 11

9 of their 11 road games were against top 76 teams.   IU took advantage of its 2 road games against 150 + teams.    IU just didn’t get many opportunities against 75-150 range teams where they might of took advantage of those teams for some cheap Q1 or Q2 wins.   The 2 games they had in this area they didn’t take advantage but in my opinion would of had a better chance to win those games instead of the top of the bracket teams with the roster they had.
