True dat. But it was relatively notable with Beard because it almost never happens.

If it's Lewis, that'd be absolutely great.

In my personal opinion Lewis would be an underwhelming hire . Just doesn’t seem to fit the criteria of someone who is a top recruiter.

I'm not familiar enough with the AAU circuit to cross reference IU ties (Chris007 didn't say IU player/coach, just ties), so I'm stumped

OK let's get the guesses going. I took this from Rabjohns but the new assistant is
40-60-year-old male
Has AAU ties
Been a CBB assistant for several years
Has IU ties
 
I have lots of guesses but I will wait to give them out. 

He never said the coaches age was 40-60 last night. He answered a question where the answer was 40-60 year old. The question wasn’t the age of the assistant coach

Good catch, I didn't see it till it was late in the night so was trying to just catch up. So that can make Jeff Meyer eligible since I eliminated him at age 65

I'm still pissed at the Pitinos for how they stole Johnson in the first place. If memory serves, Rick's top assistant left at Louisville. In a chat with his bratty son, little Richard suggested Kenny Johnson. ... For Richie -- a B1G coach -- to suggest that his dad poach from another B1G school's staff just reeked of tampering. ... Not sure how the NCAA would define tampering, but that sure seemed like it to me. Little Richie purposefully led to the weakening of a fellow conference school's coaching staff. Pretty sleazy stuff if you ask me.

Unless little Pitino was actively recruiting or contacting a coach for another program, I'd guess there would be no violations.  To the bigger point though, the Pitinos are sleazeballs (IMO).

We always think of programs like uk when discussing histories of dirty behavior (rightfully so), but minnesota basketball is also bathed in a long history of dirt (brawling, garbage under Dutcher & Haskins for example).

As far as some of the names being mentioned, are any of them known to be strong offensively-minded coaches?

I'm not sure how I'll feel if it's Johnson or Buckley because they are connected to the mostly underwhelming FCTC regime.   It would be a personal issue for me to move past that thought and it has nothing to do with their respective qualifications for the job.  We old people can get pretty set in our ways and feelings.

Kenny is a recruiter and not very solid on the development or X and O stuff if I remember correctly. Do we really need 2 of those guys to fill out the 3 assistant slots? Maybe so in today's game but I agree with the previous poster who's tired of seeing our talent under perform.

Tim Buckley is an excellent offense coach. Not a splashy hire, but 'splashy hire' doesn't matter to me even one little bit.
