Bailey7878 Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I think I said something similar yesterday to someone. Sampson would have had IU in multiple Final Fours. However, I'd like decent student-athletes on the team I am rooting for. I'm the same way with football. I really don't want to root on a domestic abuser. We may have won one with him by now. Hard to watch him killing it while we rebuild again. Seems unfair but that is life.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk ElectricBoogaloo 1 Quote
Bailey7878 Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I really started thinking about our roster for next season. With/without some we think may or may not transfer at seasons end. Man, from an offensive standpoint, I do not like our roster makeup right now. I see very little shooting and ball handling. We need guards and we need both guard spots. Yeah defensively we “should be” solid. we’ll be so long at nearly every spot but at PG. there is 4 from this years team I want to see gone for sure. (I won’t name them) it’s not even counting any of the seniors either. This is why I’ve said that he needs to recruit at all cost like all of the big boys do. I mean it, time is now. Why would you want the recruit at all costs like you keep saying... that is not IU... and I for 1 sure as heck hope it is NEVER who we are.... we do not need to cheat to win. I don't care what the others are perceived or proven to do.... I don't want that for my IU. Also if you think we have any chance of improving by losing 7 or 8 players then I don't know what to say... if we have that much roster turnover then we are really in the SERIOUS rebuild that Glass mentioned. That’s 3 players. Romeo is gone to the NBA to make it 4. I could see a few individuals looking for other opportunities via the transfer portal (or whatever spiffy name they have for it this season). Will Hunter ever play basketball again, Race? I don’t think it’s out of the question to see a huge roster turnover at the end of the year. I don’t want to see it but it could happen. I’d much rather only lose a few players that refuse to put forth the effort while grabbing a grad transfer or two that are gym rats, can provide leadership and set an example to what the culture of IU basketball should look like. Honkyman Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 It doesn't make sense for anyone on this team to transfer. With four players either graduating or going to the NBA, there will be more opportunity for playing time. Plus, top schools won't be interested in these players. If Davis graduates, he might want to use his last year of eligibility to go to a program that has a chance to compete for a title next year. Like or not, the current squad minus the three graduating and one going to the NBA (plus the two commits) is probably the IU team next year. Unless the current team shows some life during the rest of this season, it will be difficult to attract any more players of real value. Quote
