Stuhoo Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Great student, great hands, not a big time athlete...WIDE body. Count me as more than a little interested. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.courant.com/sports/uconn-mens-basketball/hc-sp-uconn-men-recruit-tre-mitchell-1005-story.html%3foutputType=amp ccgeneral, mamasa and mdn82 3 Quote
Stuhoo Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Also... Archie got on that plane; apparently Archie is more than a little interested. yogisballin 1 Quote
HoosierDYT Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Originally from Pittsburgh, shoots the 3 well, seems to be progressing, and had 22 and 11 vs national powerhouse Brewster academy who has jalen lecque and Terrance Clarke Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ccgeneral and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote
Stromboli Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Archie modifying to positionlessish. De'Ron proved the value of a true 5 last night. And TJD is very talented, but not the kind of immovable object we need sometimes. 100% crystal ball to Notre Dame (including Snow), but apparently still open. https://youtu.be/tV7V21CdqkU ElectricBoogaloo and ccgeneral 2 Quote

I think “position less” basketball is more reserved to the 2-4 positions along with a true point and a big. Our problem has been not having an option at the 5 against bigger teams. I like the potential of Moore and Forrester but that doesn’t mean I don’t want a big body option at the 5 too. In the Big Ten you almost have to have that with the bigs MSU, Maryland, pu, and was there have. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierDYT, JaybobHoosier, BGleas and 2 others 5 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Positionless or not, you’re going to have games where you need a Davis or big guy to park in the paint and protect the basket. Interesting development - Davis leaving?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ElectricBoogaloo and yogisballin 2 Quote

Interesting development - Davis leaving? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners I think it is likely that either Davis is leaving or Moore transfers. I know it's been rumored already that Davis is going to leave but if he continues to play like he did last night I would be begging him to stay if I was CAM. However I do know that his injury history could possibly be a factor here as well. Quote

Also, Mitchell is considered a center. Does this suggest in any way Davis isn't planning on coming back? Quote

I did see that rumored a few weeks ago that he did intend on leaving but I haven't seen anything since. I have a feeling we will know within a week or two after March 10th. Quote

Evan Fitzner was a no-risk pickup. We were either going to have an unused scholarship for this year, or we could get Fitzner. He's off the books next year. Obviously he hasn't provided what we and Archie were hoping for, but it's not like he's taking up a scholarship that could have been better allocated elsewhere. thebigweave, Geometry Hoosier and Kepner 3 Quote

They took him after they missed on Ryan Taylor and Matt Mooney and weren’t getting anymore 2019 players other than Romeo. It’s not like Fitzner kept them from getting someone else.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Kepner 1 Quote
IUrocker Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 I wasn’t saying he was a risky pickup, and understand how and why we got him...just that he ended up not being the type of player we thought he could be for us. Quote
schoosier Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 With talk of Jake potentially leaving and even better odds of Smith doing the same, this recruitment makes a lot of sense. Hope Jakes stays. Quote
