cljones1979 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Second time tonight a call has been overturned in Rutgers' favor. Even they get home-cooking and we don't. Really don't know if it's just physically draining practices, too much focus on upper-body weight training or just lack of confidence, but we just can't shoot. Free throws included.I am a believer of not weight training once season starts. It can really throw your shot off. But I'm no expert just my opinion.Sent from my SM-G955U using BtownBanners mobile app Josh 1 Quote
Ranger78 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Our Defense looks good. Really good with not all the pieces in place. This defense might get special with all the pieces (Virginia good). These guys are playing hard. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners theriverpilot, ALASKA HOOSIER and pumpfake 3 Quote

Defense is outstanding and that's what we need because our shooting is awful. Missed so many open shotsSent from my SM-G955U using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

At least that was how I was always coached. ALASKA HOOSIER and Josh 2 Quote
Old Friend Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I am struggling to understand what Tom Crean saw in a couple of these freshmen. Durham gives us nothing. Absolutely zero. Clifton Moore (who some here said was going to be a surprise, even though he barely out weighs a praying mantis) is just awful on the offensive end. Seriously...how can that guy go from #1 in the country to a freshman class that gives Indiana almost nothing on a pretty regular basis? I see the potential in Smith and Moore can block a shot here and there; but there is nothing to like about Durham right now. hoosierfandad66, ALASKA HOOSIER, Jam and 2 others 5 Quote
Blackmon_for_3 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I definitely don’t mind sacrificing some offense for great defense but our offense has to be a little better than what we’ve seen. I do think Archie recruiting to his style will get us there. woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
Ranger78 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 The only issue I saw was the weak close out by Green in the corner. And the BS non block out of the shooter on the ft line. My daughter (12) yelled block out the shooter - are you kidding me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

VO5 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 On a side note, I feel really bad for Hartman. You can tell he’s giving it his all but his body is just too fragile. Quote

Ranger78 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I like Durham if he’s being slowed played to see if he can evolve. The kid seems to be really focused, but just over his head. The situation requires more playing time than he should be getting. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
cljones1979 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 What the hell does Collin Hartman do? I get he's had many injuries. But in that case he should've retired from basketball and got his suit and tie out.Typically a pretty good shooter. Not sure what's going on with him this year. pumpfake Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 It seems that between missed shots under the bucket and FT's we're giving away at least 10 points a game - can't do that when you struggle to score. Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 I really don't think weightlifting is why the players are shooting poorly this year. They're being asked to play hard defense for 40 minutes and they've never had to do that before. bleedhoosier, WayneFleekHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
