Another out of state guard is Harlond Beverley(71). Not sure the interest level but people were wondering about out of state guards. They are also showing interest with the in state guards Hemenway, Franklin, Gillis, and Newman. Doesn’t mean they will offer just guards that are on the radar for 2019 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Gillis a guard? Please tell me that was a typo. Quote

IUHAHN81 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I'm just hoping for ONE and hoping that helps the flood gates open. We just gotta get this darn recruiting train a rollin' and then let Arch do his thing! If we recruit kids like our coach, hopefully we'll have a punch u in the mouth type roster that is ready to win even the toughest games. HoosierAloha, Iugradman, BGleas and 2 others 5 Quote
IUHAHN81 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I mean hey, if we toughen up with the kids we recruit, we could become the "Heinous Hoosiers" or "Homicide Hoosiers" instead of the "Hurrying Hoosiers"? No? ALASKA HOOSIER, IUBBFan1970 and Iugradman 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Assuming 4 open scholarships for the 2019 season...Center - IgiehonBig wing - Jackson-DavisWing - Watford or BrooksGuard - That would allow a year for Igiehon to develop behind Davis before taking a starting spot. Jackson-Davis could play immediately and then provide depth as a big. Watford would be an immediate impact wing. A solid guard could provide depth behind Phinisee. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 2019 PF E.J. LIDDELL OPENING EYES NATIONALLY WITH STELLAR PLAY The Class of 2019 continues to move into the fast lane recruiting wise and many of them are ready to take center stage as the focal point of regional and national recruiting over the next 10-12 months. Now on the verge of heading into the critical summer between their junior and senior years in high school, many talented prospects are playing at a high level having refined their skills over the past few years. One talented junior who continues to trend onto various national radars is E.J. Liddell of Belleville West High School in Illinois. Equipped with a powerful 6-7 220 pound plus length frame, Liddell has quietly blossomed into high major Division 1 prospect and he has continued to deliver consistently dominant results in the process. A skilled interior forward with good hands, nice instincts, and solid feel, Liddell brings a little bit of everything to the court game in and game out. He has instincts and feel on the glass usually putting him in position to collect a lot of rebounds on both ends of the court. He has good footwork and nice agility giving him the ability to play solid defense on the ball while also being able to make things happen on the offensive end of the court facing the basket or with his back to the basket. The talented junior handles it well, he has nice vision, and he’s shown the ability to face up and attack the rim off the bounce with agility and some fluidity not normally seen by a powerful interior player. He can score with his back to the basket on a variety of post moves, fade a ways, and mid-range looks with consistency. That versatility also extends out to the perimeter where he has a solid perimeter stroke and range that extends beyond the arc. A fill the box score double double type guy, Liddell displayed all of that and then some this season averaging close to 23 points a game and almost 10 rebounds a contest. As his play elevates so does his recruitment as a laundry list of schools are already in the mix on his trail. Liddell holds offers from Illinois, Missouri, Marquette, Southern Illinois, Iowa State, Iowa, De Paul, Saint Louis, Illinois State, Kansas State, Florida, Northwestern, and Ohio State. A top 50-75 national talent on most boards, Liddell is trending up and you can expect his recruiting trail to continue to fill up substantially as he’s arguably one of the better kept secrets in the country nationally right now. Liddell plays with the Brad Beal Elite during the grassroots travel season. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Belleville West lost in OT to Chaminade (Jericole Hellems) 81-77. The loss snapped a 14-game winning streak by West (17-2). Junior EJ Liddell led Belleville with 25 points and 10 blocked shots. From the Chaminade head coach: “He’s ridiculous. It’s amazing,” Bennett said of Liddell. “I thought we did a pretty good job for 3 1/2 quarters, then it was like, ‘Oh, we want to see how good a shot-blocker he is.’ And we found out very quickly. I’ve just never seen a kid that has the timing and the bounciness that he does. He doesn’t fall for shot fakes. He closes out from the help side quickly and his timing to block the shot is unbelievable.” ALASKA HOOSIER, GloryDays and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Igiehon, Jackson-Davis, Brooks/Watford and a shooter would make this class a perfect complement to the 2018 foundation class! Igiehon and Jackson-Davis are in that low 5* high 4* range that could be 3-4 year players. That's what championship teams could/should be built on. Igiehon, Jackson-Davis, Forrester, Thompson, Moore, and Davis would be a great stable of 4s and 5s to draw from.
