Someone more familiar with the pack line defense can explain this to me I’m sure: I’ve seen Davis flare out way past the arc a couple times to defend a screen at the top of the key. I thought that was over with the pack line philosophy?

They are allowed to go outside the pac line depending on scout of the person with the basketball, specifically the type of ball screen coverage they are playing for the team / player.

I've been studying the pac line for the past two months, very good stuff. Not all pac lines are the same though.

Defense won't be great this year. It won't be bad. Gonna need someone to stepup on offense.

Arch said we were way behind in defense in yesterday's presser. I believe he said they were starting from scratch. Hello Capt obvious but a complete slam to the previous staff.

First half immediate (over)reactions:
1) our sophomores look good. DG, CJ and DD all seem to do well in that 20.
2) I think with Archie’s experience at the point, our guards will excel on the drive. Saw some good flashes of that multiple times.
3) let’s hope RoJo finds his shot/place. As someone already said, he seemed uncomfortable. Although, he did miss 3 shots at the rim. Could’ve been a very different feel for him if he had hit those.
