Would love to see TJD at IU, BUT I'm not convinced that a freshman TJD will  be a better player than:

  • A sophomore Jake Forrester
  • A redshirt sophomore Race Thompson
  • A freshman Isaiah Stewart, Aidan Igeihorn, etc.

Yes.. he would absolutely be better than a SO Forrester. Trayce had a HUGE game last weekend while sick.

Hard to say if he would be absolutely better. Depends which Trayce decides to show up. I’ve watched everyone of his home games this year and there are times where if I didn’t know he was a top 50 recruit I would just think he was another player. Last weeks game was big but it took him a while to get going and Lawrence Central didn’t have any size. He just overpowered them. This year the problem has been when the team faces any adversity during a game against other top level teams his body language becomes very bad. When he decides to play angry and hard all the time instead of only when things are going good then yes I will agree he will be way better unfortunately he isn’t at that point just yet.

Disagree about the "absolutely."

Jake Forrester is also a high-ceiling player. At 6'10" and after a year with Cliff and Archie he could be really, really good, or he could still be really, really raw. Won't know until about next February.

I like Jake from the potential side.
Always plays hard and that goes a long way with Archie.
6'10" and athletic with shot blocking ability cant hurt either.
Wouldn't suprise me a bit to see him become a key player.

I noticed this at the Forum Tipoff. His body language was pretty bad in that game.

Welcome aboard TW22.  Great group of people and glad to have you join us.  And as I've said before, if we aren't battling with Izzo, Coach K., Calamari, etc., for recruits we aren't going after the right talent.

Don't forget Drewfus!

I haven't seen him play other than in highlight clips, but I hate to be too critical of him given his age. I'm sure he will mature significantly in the next couple of years. Plus, he is just now getting attention from all the heavyweights which has to be hard to handle in an even keeled manner. He also has two men in his life who have had success at highest level, so I think he'll figure it out if he really wants it.

Yea, a lot of it came in the closing seconds and after they lost. Guess you can flip it to say he loves to win and he wanted the ball for the final shot. Like you said, he is still young, so he has some time to grow. I would still happily have him in the candy stripes.

Thanks, still adjusting to the forum's jargon, but it is great to have such an active community.

He's going to have to mature a lot before he's ready to be a solid college player let alone be better than other more experienced bigs on the team, fortunately he has time.

You taking a SO Forrester or FR Jackson? Bottom line for this debate.

I think he’s the sleeper of his class. Big, high motor guys that rebound are definitely valued. We will be fortunate to have him. D Rodman for you old timers.
